[BIRDFEED EXCLUSIVE] We know it's been a couple weeks without the weekly Birdfeed track, and the reason is because we didn't find any music that we thought was good enough to get to our Birdfeeders. That all changes with this week's new one, which comes from the United Kingdom's Damon Hess!

-How long have you been creating music?
I have been creating music around 12 years, started off as a drummer  in a band.

-What do you use to make your tracks?
I use Logic X to produce my music.

-How and when did you first discover Dirtybird?
Discovered Dirtybird around 3 years ago and I've always wanted to get on the label.

-Which Dirtybird artist would you want to collaborate with the most?
I'd love to collaborate with the main man VonStroke, himself, that would be unreal.

-If your entire life was a movie, what title would best describe you?
My life as a movie would be, Mental Asylum, as my life is mental :)

-What’s the best concert you’ve ever been to?
Best concert ever, has to be Carl Cox B2B Adam Bayer.

-What species of bird best describes you and why?
Species of bird would have to be the Eagle.

-What does Dirtybird mean to you?
Dirtybird means to me one of the biggest bucket list ticks of my career so far.

Pleasurekraft - Primordial [Kraftek]

This ninth label release offers a compelling original from SF-based artist, ZEHV, and an intelligently-crafted remix from seasoned UK artist, Audioglider.

ZEHV, born and raised in San Francisco, has grown-up as a self-taught guitar and piano player, participating in a variety of music ensembles on the way. As an up-and-coming talent in the SF Bay Area's nightlife circuit, he's quickly found himself playing alongside proper talent like Coyu, Pete Tong, Fehrplay, and more. His DJ style consists of classic progressive house influences, and his production reflects a deep understanding of what makes this music genre so timeless. This original production, "Blanco", comprises of a driving groove garnished with captivating and emotive melodic elements – a tasteful balance to the tune's low-end drive – and leaves you with a lovely aftertaste that's reminiscent of artists like Fehrplay or Pryda, perfect for a primed dance floor.

Tom & Laszlo met in UK, became best friends and formed Monofade in 2013. Since then the duo has released some 20 deep house tracks on labels like King Street and Capital Heaven.

I Need You is their debut release on HMWL. Monofade were looking for a catchy melodic vocal for I Need You vocals and Kate Wild's voice got stuck in their head. The original track is relaxed sunset deep house gem. On the radio versions, Kate's vocal adds a forward-thinking, melodic, vocal dance floor-centric direction to the song. Classic UK deep house!

Legendary Manchester based Paper Recordings’ celebrates its 25th birthday in 2019 and a relationship with Norway that stretches back almost as far.

In 1997 Those Norwegians’ Kilpisjärvi EP (Rune Lindbaek, Torbjørn Brundtland of Röyksopp & Ole Mjøs) was released and helped blueprint the Nordic cosmic, left-field take on house, disco and Balearic that has gone on to conquer the world. Hell, they even made an award winning documentary about it ‘Northern Disco Lights’.

The label has helped break generations of Norwegian producers including Proviant Audio (who went Top 40), De Fantastiske To, Diskobeistet, Vinny Villbass, Rave-enka and Bøka / Lakehouse as well as release music by legends like Ralph Myerz, Lindstrøm, Mental Overdrive and Erot

Now things have come full circle as Paper go back to Tromsø where everything and nothing has changed. It is still a town inside the arctic circle a long way from anywhere that allows its creativity to develop away from the media spotlight. It is also still turning out amazing producers who have the potential to flip the game once again and go on to be the next Todd Terje or Lindstrøm.

Third Attempt and Runther are part of the new generation and bring a uniquely original Norwegian sound to take things forward. Runther delivers his big room deep beats with subs, squelches, breaks and ambience. Third Attempt rewrites the nu-disco rule book with funk, soul and a nod to the likes of Metro Area, Daniel Wang and 90s Paper.

They are part of “The Tromsø Collective” and Volume 1 is the first EP in an on-going series celebrating the city’s creative talents with its designers, artists, film-makers, DJs and producers. It is a co-release with one of the cornerstones of Norwegian dance music, longstanding Tromsø label Beatservice plus Runther’s fledgling imprint, Run The Rave.

Sudo's return to Nicole Moudaber's MOOD since last summer's thumping 'Abstract' EP, 'Hale' sees him rolling in esteemed company as good friend and Richie Hawtin's Enter resident and MoodRAW regular, Hito, joins the fray. And what a fray it is… Tailored for the silly season ahead, 'Hale' is a super-charged roller laced with a rainbow of salutations and powerful harmonics that loop and twist in a similar immersive and addictive fashion to Underworld's gamechanging anthem 'Rez'. The producer and DJ brought together both of their creative talents and 'Hale' features the voices of various friends from all over the world celebrating the Japanese spirit for global diversity.

Remix-wise we remain in the land of the rising sun as Japanese techno OG Ken Ishii lays down two superb versions; one that makes amazing creative use of the global 'hello' montage in a real fun and funky way, and one that strips things back to the bare rhythmic bone. Finally we head to Montreal as Johnny Trika follows up his recent appearance on Hito's 'Deeperfect' collection with a much darker, pranged out twist where the bassline spirals into the ground and the vocal textures aren't all that they seem.
