This is a recording of the set I played at Comuna Festival on Saturday 2023-06-24. 

This was the first time I got the chance to play such slow and deep tracks for a proper audience - I am so happy downtempo made it to your ears and dance moves, this means a lot to me.

Perfectly in tune with the summer season upon us, Islandman presents a refreshing sound from the shores of the Black Sea with this splendid sunny mix. Originally from Turkey, this brilliant producer started out at a young age and made his way in music by playing a traditional long-necked lute known as a saz. It’s thanks to this early relationship with music that Islandman developed the technique and feeling needed to handle farfetched rhythms, sounds and chants inspired by the flowering cultures of the Mediterranean Basin and beyond to blend them with mastery in his tracks and mixes. This eclecticism and understanding of music has helped him put together a wide range of melodies and musical styles which extend from enchanting edits of traditional Bulgarian sounds to smooth balearic disco. His mix is exciting and mesmerising, catching the mind in a gentle twine of melodies and rhythms. His perfect balance of percussions and electronic beats shakes and ripples throughout the track, and lifts you with ecstatic vibes. The mix goes on in a beautifully arranged journey set by the pace of your own inner dance, as if the concept of time ceases to exist and it’s just you and the music. So, grab your headphones, go for a walk amongst nature and let Islandman take you to that hidden place within. From us at UCR, we hope you enjoy the sounds of Islandman as much as we do.

This is the recording of my live set at @ShikaShikacollective 's London Showcase alongside History of Colour and @dj-Yeahman, it was a sweet night full of colourful tunes ❤

Despite the electricity in the club cut half way through my set for a couple of minutes I managed to go back and fix the recording pretty easily so here it is!
Over an hour of a live, semi improvised performance where I resample old tracks of mine creating new live versions and occasionally jam with my synthesiser.

Live Set @ Shika Shika London Showcase

One year ago we started our much loved podcast series Monada Brahma.

The title °MoNada Brahma° is inspired by the vedish „Nada Brahma“ which means „the world is sound“. Nada is the sound and frequency while Brahma means the world and creator.

Since primitive times, sages and experts of all cultures have known that tone intervals and music are representing structures of order that are present in the entire cosmos and everywhere in nature - in every stone, every tree, every blade of grass and of course, in every cell of the human organism.
Today it's proven through research and cymatics how sounds form and transform matter. Further we can experience the influences of sound in our every day life, as it is often enough for a person to simply really listen and sense, let it be a kind word or a favourite song, to embrace new enjoyment in life. So music and it's frequency is indeed an important and powerful tool for all of us.
All ancient cultures therefore attributed sounds and music a great power - a power that was used to preserve or restore harmonies in the body, in nature and in the cosmos, and thus played an important role in healing processes.
It is easy to understand that the sensitivity for the energetic effect of sounds has been largely lost in our time, as we live in the noise of mechanized civilization, in an acoustic pollution in which something like silence became almost impossible.

With Monada Brahma, we want to create timeless moments, moments where one can recover to find back to a harmonious resonance, within ourselves, to heal disturbances on a cellular, mental or spiritual level.

As usual, our dear friend and amazing artist Radka Tiarksova provides us another beautiful piece of visionairy art with „The Children Of Music“ by Radka SoulArt for our beloved cover art-podcast-ensemble.

Very pleased to share with you, this lush set that I played with my brother Dali Sana at When a Fire Starts to Burn w/ Warte:mal, Luana Schwengber & more
that was a fundraiser party we co-created, in order to collect money for Amazon Watch & Up2green who are two NGO's fighting to preserve and reforesting the rainforest in the Amazonas that currently are plagued with huge fires, because of human greed.
We managed to collect money to plant roughly 4.000 trees :D

About this mix :
I would like to thank Cosmovision to make a set for them and for remaining patient with me over the last months whilst I have mostly been away from music. I always find making sets difficult as each one I want to be a unique experience and hopefully even a little different to anything else. I will always try to use loops and samples to emphasise this. I still consider myself a bit of a beginner as I don't really have a carved out objective, rather see what works and hopefully do the producers tracks justice. Hope you enjoy :)

Former Pro DJ and lifetime music lover. Used the SL1200's for years until finally moving into the 21st century with Traktor.
Always been a fan of live instruments and melodic rhythms, both electronic and natural. I play all kinds of house music, whether it be progressive, funky, latin, tech etc etc., but for the last couple of years I've been focussing on slowing things down (I think it comes with age!) and enjoying the music for what it is. Now I just play for fun, so no pressure and I just listen and appreciate.
Now getting into a little producing some nice edits and hope to bring out something totally original soon :)

Originating from ancient Greek, Mousikē is the union of 3 things; words with or without meaning, physical moves that we call dance and the evolution of music.

Rising from the land of muses, Anatolia; Mousikē started as a Soundcloud page & private parties in Istanbul. Now it turned into a series of musical gatherings all around the world, which ended up as a vibrant community with a great variety of colours and tastes.

With launch of Mousikē Records, roots of our young tree are expanding to various channels and music platforms to grow & give more goods to wider community; and eventually die and decompose to its core elements which will become life & inspiration to other livings in the universe.
