This time, I return to the realm of fantasy, where my characters, upon arriving in the North, found themselves in the dwarven mines. There, they are to meet with the Dwarf King's son, who will task them with aiding in uncovering the mystery surrounding his father's death, slain in a goblin ambush. However, before this occurs, they take part in a funeral ceremony.

To craft this piece, I utilized only the free VSTi's by ProjectSAM @projectsam: Free Orchestra 1 and 2. I've begun working on it 2 months ago... It's one of my over 30 projects in development ;)

Another track that floated unfinished in the digital recorder (and my) memory for a few years, changed several times (only the piano and bass parts remained the same). At first I wanted to do something similar to the opening themes of 1960s TV football programmes; then, by adding and subtracting parts and instruments, it reminded me of Viennese Kaffeehäuser from the early 1900s. Perhaps because of the many overlapping strings: here seem to be many people talking, some even alone. Since this impression does not displease me, I decided to end the long agony of the piece.

The track was composed by Roberto B on 14 September 2024 in MAGIX (initial composition, recording, arrangement and mix) and Alex M on 1 and 2 December 2024 in Logic Pro using Akai MPK keyboard input (subsequent composition, recording, arrangement and final mix), and released here on SoundCloud this evening (in Europe), 15 December 2024. We hope you'll enjoy it.

The artwork cover for the album and all tracks combines a painting by Roberto B of 1 June 2022 (in the bottom part) with design and implementation in PowerPoint and Mac OS Preview by Alex M of 17 November 2024 - in coordination and agreement between the two.

Theory for anyone who cares:

- Cminor7 for the verse
- Chorus is in D# major
- Second verse I decided to shift to Fminor which feels uplifting, but familiar - with the same melody shifted up
 - Bringing it back to D# major for the final chorus  
- Guitar and piano lines at 3.48 outline the chord progression in the chorus

I'm a guitarist and wanna be composer / songwriter- from Perth, Western Australia. I'm currently releasing a bunch of solo material as I have a backlog of older demos and also a new creative streak (thanks life).

Guess you could say it's prog rock, metal, atmospheric soundscapes, curated samples, synth melodies, stoner rock vibes and storytelling elements like samples and all that good stuff.  But a few killer solos in there too - and riffs. I like riffs....

You won't just see the final, polished product either. I'll release demos, phone memos, whatever - Along with the actual end result so you can take part in this musical journey with me.
