Meditation

I wanted to do a meditation focused on forgiveness and came to understand, once I was into it, that it's a bigger topic than I had realized. So, I've broken down into layers, and started at what, for me, is the first one I could identify: lifting the veil from the feeling of disconnection and anger to a more authentic experience of the connection between things. No clue how long the series will take to complete, or even what it will include. I find that enormously liberating.

Created instinctively and intuitively by Marconi Union, Weightless has been claimed to have therapeutic properties in the way the track almost appears to have a heartbeat running through it which slows down very gently throughout the piece, encouraging a deep sense of relaxation in the body, It's use of specific rhythms, beep bass tones, frequencies and intervals induce an almost trance like state in the listener.

An 8 minute meditation to help ease stress and anxiety, using the power of the breath and positive affirmations to create peace and relaxation in body, mind and spirit.

Guided Meditation

When I started this composition, I'd conceived it as a meditation piece, but it became too tuneful for that, I think -- unless you like your meditations very brief and very emotional. Musically, I was interested in maintaining a steady momentum (if 68 bpm can be said to be momentum) with the relentless gran cassa and fickle timpani, while allowing the melodies to flow languidly. Additionally, I had some vague ideas about using filtering modulation under small orchestra. Most importantly, however, I have of late been renewing my love affair with the viola, and I wanted to listen to how it reacts, compositionally speaking, when the violin comes in to steal its thunder. The poor cello in this piece is really more a lady-in-waiting than an actual member of the court, but I noted how the viola and violin create a kind of pas de deux which exemplified the substance of affinity that I sought to bring forward. How handy! Lastly, I'm ambivalent about the first eight bars, which is a consolidation of a much longer intro I wrote when i had imagined this as a meditation piece. There's something all wrong about an 8-bar intro for a piece like this, but everything else I worked with felt forced or...well, yes, forced. And perhaps a bit smug. I imagine that I'll rewrite this intro when I expand the composition at a later date before recording. Oh, and lastly: emotionally speaking, I feel that this is a very private piece of music, which is all the more reason to let it go and note how I feel afterwards. No one ever said being a composer would be safe.

BEFORE USING THIS GUIDED MEDITATION, PLEASE READ THE FOLLOWING:

After following these guided meditation instructions to the letter a few times, I do encourage you to do this meditation guiding yourself without the use of this audio.
 
The purpose of meditation is to come to stillness of body & mind & in doing so to connect to a state of nothingness through focus & concentration. By pausing thought you come into direct contact with the Creative Intelligence of the Universe, the Absolute. Thoughts are usually about the problems of yesterday & the possible solutions of tomorrow & are a distraction from the moment, the place & time in which we really are. Meditation brings you into the moment, helping us to overcome the transient & to rest in the Absolute.
 
Meditation is best done within the 1st hour of waking up to start your day & again in the 1st hour or so after finishing a day's work before you relax, whatever hours you may keep.

This Mindfulness Meditation technique that you will now learn to do is very powerful and best for us in the western world as it brings us into touch with our 5 senses. When this happens we feel, taste, smell, see & hear much better as we're more focused & in the moment rather than being absorbed by distracting thoughts, which means we can complete our work in half the time as we're more tuned in to our senses.
 
With this meditation, we therefore start by bringing the body to stillness. The mind will not come to complete stillness if the body is un-still. Once the body is still we bring the mind to stillness. This we do by concentrating first on our weakest sense and then progress though the senses to our strongest sense. This way we become truly connected to our senses.
 
Before we do that, we need to relax & get our bodies into the correct position. 
So, firstly, sit upright on a comfortable chair with your feet resting on the floor or, cross-legged on a cushion. Do not lean against the back of the chair; let your body support itself.
Your back must be upright, dead straight, aligning our Chakra points which will then give us a better connection to the Absolute. Imagine your spine being connected by a piece of string with the string going from the bottom vertebrae right up the spine & out of the top of your head. Imagine pulling the string from above your head to straighten your whole back & make your back as straight as possible. Your Chakras will then be completely in line.
 
Next, hold down your index fingers with your thumbs. This is to hold down ego as ego comes through this finger.
The other 3 fingers should be straight. These 3 fingers represent the 3 Guna, Tamas (rest / ignorance), Ragas (movement) & Sattva (Truth) that are the 3 energy sources that make up the Human Spirit. Holding these fingers outward is offering the Guna back to the Universe from where it came.
With your hands in this position, rest them, palms up, on your knees.
 
Now roll your shoulders from forwards to backwards in a slow movement opening up your chest & Ethereal heart.
 
Then bring your attention to your ethereal heart in the centre of your chest & instruct it to get warm. Then instruct it to get warmer still & melting away the frostiness of the day.
Observe the energy that is life permeating your whole body. Be aware of the Self as the Observer of this energy being aware that we cannot be that which we can observe!

Once you finish the meditation thank the Universe for allowing you connect as all of the information herein, is Universal information & belongs to no one.

Enjoy this mediation, that will improve your spiritual, mental & physical health, as this will de-stress you completely & in the presence of no stress, you immune system will become much stronger, making you physically more healthy.

There is much suffering and misery in this world and some people want to get out of this world. Is there a way to get out of the world of suffering and misery by looking into your body? We can see the four elements - water, air, earth, and heat - in our body. There are six sense organs that can produce the six consciousnesses. When you look into the body deeply, you can see it is a community. Can you see all our ancestors by looking into the body?  Is there a self? If we heal ourselves, we can heal our ancestors.  We don't just practice for ourselves, we practice for all our ancestors. Our body is a treasure and we should take care of our body. There is a Buddha in the body.

Mr.C started MCing in London clubs aged 16 working with LWR radio's Ron Tom, Jasper the Vinyl Junkie & Jazzy M. Mr.C then hooked up with Colin Faver & Evil Eddie Richards to became resident rapper at the legendary Camden Palace in London. Mr.C went into the studio to record his 1st house track with Eddie Richards as Myster-E which was released in August 1987. This inspired Mr.C to become a DJ so in September 87 he took to the decks. 
Mr.C has since organised, promoted & been resident DJ at: Fantasy ('88), Base (Dungeons '89), Release (91), Harmony (92), Drop (93), Cyclone (94), Vapourspace (94 & 95), Flavour (The End 95 & 96), Subterrain (The End 95 - 2002), Superfreq (Worldwide 2002 - Present), Super Disco Freq (LA 2010 - present), Next Step Forward Festival (Sept 2018). 
Mr.C was resident DJ every weekend (Friday & Saturday nights) at the legendary RIP parties at Clink Street in London throughout 1988.
Mr.C hosted weekly radio show Future Music on Kiss 100FM in London from 1993-2002 & has presented TV shows for MTV, FH1, VIVA & BBC. To say that Mr.C is one of the most iconic DJs in the world would be an understatement.
In December 1995 Mr.C opened the legendary nightclub The End in London & then AKA bar 3 years later & was lauded as one of the best night clubs in the world. The End & AKA closed its doors for good on January 24th 2009. 1 Chapter closes & another begins. Since the closure of The End Mr.C has been running his Superfreq events globally & is just about to host his brand new London festival, Next Step Forward Festival. 
Mr.C runs & promotes Superfreq events, which celebrated being 16 years old in March 2018 & ran monthly at Mr.C's club The End until it closed down in January 2009. Superfreq functions bi-monthly in London & does regular events in Los Angeles as well as bi-monthly events in Calais France & one off events the world over.
Mr.C is founder & owner of Plink Plonk records, co-founder of End Recordings & founder & co-owner of the Superfreq label, which is now releasing music prolifically.
Mr.C has recorded under the names, Myster-E, Unity 2, Nu Jacks, Bass Bureau, The Shamen, Mantrac, Somnambulist, Animus Amour, Killer Loop, Mr.C & Tom Parris, Mr.C & 16B, Sycophant Slags, Indigo Kidz & East LA Tek.
Mr.C is best known as front man, songwriter & producer of the pop group The Shamen with whom he notched up a string of top 10 hits including Move Any Mountain, Love Sex Intelligence, Boss Drum, Phorever People & the UK number 1 smash hit Ebeneezer Goode. These hits were hits the world over. The Shamen album Boss Drum went double platinum in the UK & they also won a highly coveted Ivor Novelo for Songwriters of the year UK in 1993. Richard's currently recording solo as Mr.C & is also doing collaborations as the Indigo Kidz with Affie Yusuf & with Noel Jackson as East LA Tek.
His latest album was released last year called Incidents, which is arguably his best work to date along with singles Stand Up, Shape Your Dreams & Ripple Effect all being taken from the album.
