An improvised spatial audio performance, output of a 1-week MOME Sound Landscape Workshop focused on field-recording and spatial audio performance as a part of Sounding City Kőszeg.

Caoutchouc Freeze by Polina Khatsenka uses onomatopoetic elements extracted from field-recordings and interviews with the inhabitants of San Francisco in Pucallpa. The gradual deconstruction of the voice epitomises the dehumanisation of indigenous people: the words are slowly losing their structure and are morphing into industrial-like noise.

Caoutchouc dreams is a sound project initiated by Clemens Mairhofer and Marie-Andrée Pellerin, which took place on the Danube on August 26th 2022. The floating sound installation aimed to reverse the iconic gramophone scene from the film Fitzcarraldo (1982) directed by Werner Herzog. Set during the 19th century Rubber Boom in the Amazon region, the film scene captures and condenses in a single shot the mentality of the cultural and economic imperialism of the time. The sound compositions created for this project by Peruvian and European-based artists seek to explore from different perspectives the paradox of the "Amazonian dream".

Haha, bit on the nose. Well the most important thing is to live authentically and spread joy everywhere I go. I'm also interested in Queer rights and am part of the Ústecký Pride collective. I'm also incredibly lucky to be able to study photography at FUD.

What’s in the bag?

The mix is full of diversity and different genres. I tried to showcase mostly female & queer artists that inspire me. You can feel the UK and Australia sound throughout the whole mix. Positive & High energy is what drives me. Groove is there and the bass is bumping. Progressive sound is what currently excites me and you'll most definitely hear that in the mix. Aliens & spaceships let's get it.

AXT is a Ukrainian DJ and sound creator temporarily based in Prague, Czech Republic. She is a resident at Prague’s Bike Jesus club and a co-founder of Motsion, a Ukrainian multidisciplinary collective focusing on audio and visual performances. Masha also co-hosts the Motsion show on Radio Punctum, where she and Andriy K. invite their favorite artists to explore experimental sounds filled with textures, heavy low frequencies, and strong emotional charge. The show highlights Ukrainian producers, favorite Czech musicians, and like-minded creators from around the world.

AXT began her music career in 2015. Since then, her sonic exploration of emotionally saturated bass music, glossy experimental, and dusty drum and bass has left its mark on various venues, including ∄ in Kyiv, Ankali and Fuchs2 in Prague, Arkaoda in Istanbul, Fitzroy and Kwia in Berlin, and Kaserne in Basel. She has shared lineups with artists such as Flowdan, BABii, Neffa-T, Pholo, Dj Loui from Jupiter4, Moesha13, and Fausto Bahía. AXT's original tracks have been featured by Andriy K. on his stream on Hague-based Future Intel, by Joanna OJ for Caninal takeover of Sweden’s Retreat Radio, and by Nastya Muravyova for CXEMA podcast on NTS Radio, among others.

The mix is built upon glitchy and formless tunes that flow into a 140+ bpm bass-heavy whirlwind. A reality check and an adrenaline kick to keep ourselves pumped up for the rest of the day, week, month, and life.
