Magenta sings abstract and improvised vocals into a microphone and Wobbly samples and multiplies those vocals into a forest menagerie. The Best Of Green Beats full Mix

"Almost Nothing" is an exquisite extended track of copyright-free ambient thumb piano trance music performed by Dr. Cornelius "Thumbs" Pianeer on a vintage Hugh Tracey alto kalimba in the heart of the Shenandoah Valley.

"Almost Nothing" opens with birds singing and some passing traffic before settling into a sweet, minor key melody that devolves to almost nothing before coming back to life then fading again ever so slowly.

Almost Nothing - Dr. Cornelius Pianeer plays Vintage Thumb Piano

Hello friends! Excited to share with you this offering, that I shared with 30 wonderful women on the rural bush-lands of regional far north-eastern Australia last weekend. Together we danced barefoot on the soil, next to the river, around the fire, with the open sky abound…. In prayer and ritual, in ceremony & celebration of the dawning New Earth: The Feminine Rising.

  Aurora Celeste @tribalvisionamazon & I were inspired by the culminate calling of the last few months collective-energy… and together we came to offer ritual to the ancestors, drank cacao (of course) and to emerge as the butterfly’s we are and spread our wings, dancing not just for ourselves and the Earth but all of humanity.  Our event intentioned ‘Earth Rebirth: An Women’s Outdoor Gathering’

  The feminine-medicine mix is dedicated to those sisters who can’t dance, those who cannot sit still enough to listen or who may be forced upon without freedom to simply enjoy Sound. Our prayer is to unite, to share the wisdom of the Earth through these sounds, so that the United Feminine of Voice Of the Body/The Heart through All: Shall Rise Again. 

  This is my greatest intentional music mix to date, and although still the forever learner to the technology to do so… my greatest inspiration and Love is that of Listening: these are some of the sounds that has lifted my heart in these times and given a voice to the great story I believe emerging true: She = We.  

A mix dedicated to Mother Earth, and all it’s creatures, worlds, and lives - of those, past, present & future. 

  Please consider buying the music directly from the artists whom is listed inside & thank each one so deeply for their incredible individual beauty to be able to culminate in a new way of collective story telling in these times! This mix is shared in promise to those women who wanted tunes and to those friends, many sisters around the world whom I hope we can reunite to dance again together, in person. sounds by Magenta, an artist and musician located in Nevada City, CA

Influences: traditional vocal music from all over the world, experimental electronic music and noise, extended vocal technique. Mostly I spend a lot of time exploring the types of sounds I can make with my face, and how sounds reflect off of and influence my environment. 

I was a professional classical pianist age 12-24. Since then, I've been listening to as much music as I can find, to diversify my approach and context for playing with people. I'm learning pitched percussion and mouth harps, and once I get a looping/effects setup I'll start playing solo shows. I have produced one CD and an EP with my friend Wobbly / Jon Leidecker - http://mufaor.bandcamp.com/ who is an experimental electronic musician and sample artist. I'm slowly putting together a set of simple songs that have words and "normal" melodies.
