Kim Ann Foxman takes us direct to the heart of a sweaty warehouse rave with these two red hot new singles. 'Connection' is all bright stabs, sci-fi effects and coruscated old school house jack that is impossible to ignore. Luca Lozano smooths it out slightly and races ahead with a big baseline that gets you making elastic moves. Foxmann's 'Magic Magic' then keeps up the rave house vibe but with a tinge of trancey-euphoria in the big, bright synths. Matisa's remix is all about smoother house pleasures. This is functional music with a big heart.

Two years ago Gouranga shared Dombrance's Taubira to celebrate the artist's debut show on American soil. That show was at the first of Gouranga's legendary Bowery Ballroom parties in New York City. Now the crew present a selection of remixes from some of their frequent collaborators.
Dombrance is a French DJ and producer who has been releasing selective, highly regarded work for almost 20 years gracing labels like Kitsune, Virgin Records and Yuksek’s Partfine. The single ‘Taubira’ appeared exclusively via Gouranga’s channel two years ago and now returns for a full release with a stellar set of remixes.
Our choice here is Spain’s James Rod who turns in an extended and intense revision that takes things into tripped out, late-night territory.

Hoochie Coochie Papa simply cannot get enough of Disco – of any kind… of any time. His solid string of releases on vital platforms such as Golden Soul and Emerald & Doreen has shown how Disco Music has strongly influenced his sonority. Based in Belo Horizonte, Brazil, Hoochie lands for the first time on Paulista imprint LoveDogs with “Knight Rider”, an interesting EP featuring two crusty originals and two fat remixes provided by André Rech and the label owners themselves, the respected duo TouchTalk.

Despite the high quality of the remixes, we decided to premiere/review one of the originals because we wanted to immerse into Hoochie’s work without the “interference” of a collaborator. “Attitude”, the chosen one, is that kind of track that expresses the true essence of the so-called Dark Disco/Indie Dance scene: Its intensity and moxie, provided by nervously arpeggiated synth leads and layers paired with a lively bassline plus lots of rhythmic claps and snares, deliver a modern piece infused with a notable retro atmosphere. Pats on the back, Mr. Papa!

When you put together Mufti, Fabrizio Mammarella and Modular Project the perfect storm is around the corner. The label, well known for the quality of his releases, landed this time with “Kismet EP” from the Mexican producer Mufti.
Kismet Original Mix is a track that immediately captures the attention with the main lead melody and the vocal that gently drives into the composition, instead, the unexpected slammed guitar is a pure energetic bliss for every body-mover on the dancefloor.
Nothing Is Real’s bosses Modular Project gives to the main version their special disco-dreamy fingerprint in full effect with an upbeat bass, a sweet arpeggio and their classic 707 style drumming.
The icing on the cake came from the Italian master Fabrizio Mammarella, head of Slow Motion Records and renowned for appearance on labels like Permanent Vacation, Riotvan, Correspondant and many others. He delivers a twist on “Kismet” with his rolling bass and a charming acid envelope late during the arrangement.
With “Escotoma” Mufti goes on a pure Darkwave trip with his unique vocal and a cloudy guitar melody matched with a slow arpeggio that gives the guide to the track.

In it’s 5th release the label Fucanglong Files welcomes UK artist Radondo.

He delivers an ep that drives you into his dystopian world.

First with ‘Alone’ a slow but intense track, filled with dark synths that make you remember Blade Runner’s soundtrack. A dry and strong beat with a super heavy snare, driven by a catchy synth bass and an amazing choir lead.

‘Dusk’ goes into the italo realm. Bright synths and leads that tell a complete story throughout the track. Still inside Radondo’s dystopian world, you can feel a little light inside this one.

First remix comes by the hand of Mufti one the heads of Fucanglong Files. He takes ‘Alone’ into a more melacholic and club vibe while keeping a lot of the original.

Last but not least ‘Dusk’ gets the Curses treatment. His ‘Lucid Dawn’ mix is a fantastic cinematic journey that drives you through many different feelings during the track. From post punk guitars to huge new wave synths. Close your eyes and enjoy.

Expect to listen a lot of heavy snares, strong basslines, tons of synths…

No one ever comes to Vermilion Sands now, and I suppose there are few people who have ever heard of it. But ten years ago, when we went to live at Stellavista, just before our marriage broke up, the colony was still remembered as the one-time playground of movie stars, delinquent heiresses and eccentric cosmopolites in those fabulous years before the Recess. Admittedly most of the abstract villas and fake palazzos were empty, their huge gardens overgrown, two-level swimming pools long drained, and the whole place was degenerating like an abandoned amusement park, but there was enough bizarre extravagance in the air to make one realize that the giants had only just departed. I remember the day. We first drove down Stellavista in the property agent's car, and how exhilarated we were, despite our bogus front of bourgeois respectability. It was a full spectrum and someone was preparing to rule a planet that is called Earth. Some months ago Prismatica left their lab and bring science to the people. These are the remixes of their first release for Shango Records. Guy Maayan, Mamacoca, Stories of Dharma, Tom Nikso and Treceveinte are scientists of modern times.

@riotvan-family is thrilled to announce the latest installment of the "Familiar Faces” series, with label bosses Panthera Krause and Peter Invasion once again opening their arms and welcoming an exceptional group of friends. Some familiar faces return, while others make a glorious Riotvan debut. 

Originally conceived as a four-track release, in line with previous installments, the project took on a life of its own as the incredible music continued to flow in. Today, we are delighted to present "Familiar Faces IV," an eight-track selection that showcases the freshest and most diverse sounds from a group of our incredibly talented friends. 

Riotvan regulars Shubostar, New Hook, and Sexy Lazer, invite listeners on their journey exploring deep, punky, and cinematic soundscapes, while our Belgian buddy, DC Salas, takes a deep dive into the acidic depths.
