The motif I used for the menu theme was the same one I had composed for Saiko. Initially, I made the waking up theme (Another Dream) as an idea / experiment, but since it worked well, I also expanded it fully into a menu theme, with vertical layering the harder the difficulty is.

Into the Dream (Awake Arrange.)

Escaping the Dream was the first cutscene theme I had composed, which took me a substantial amount of time to get right. As with My Envy, this went through many iterations before the current style was chosen. It mixes Yui's motif with Saiko's.
The other cutscene themes were quite fun to compose, too. They mostly develop on existing motifs-- My Hell develops Yui's motif (with an added flanger effect in the actual cutscene), Her Mercy develops Elissu's motif and adds Saiko's. 
You will notice the tracks are a little different from the in-game cutscenes, especially with Her Mercy, which differs substantially. The reason for this is that I tend to compose the fuller tracks first, and then cut them down and modify them for the in-game cutscene.

Another Forest

These were late additions to the game, but not unwelcome. Heartless Sacrifice was a tricky track to get right. The initial version was about twice as long, but I disliked how it ended up sounding. I think the current version conveys the "gotta move on" sound well. As for Soul's Rest and Inner Darkness, these were very interesting as it introduces a new character and a new motif-- the demon. I was told to make the shrine's theme sound unsettling, but safe at the same time. So, I wanted the first 50 seconds to convey that sort of unsettling feeling of discovering something new in the forest, while the rest of it feels a little safer, albeit with an underlying darkness. Darkness that we get to fully hear in Inner Darkness, the demon's full motif where it manifests and tears Yui apart. That track was fun to compose-- with great help from Ivan Spelljack Jitz. I rearranged the initial version we had in mind. I composed it separate from the cutscene at first, but surprisingly, it ended up fitting almost 1:1.

Soul's Rest

This was the absolute last theme I made, while I was editing the trailer for the game. I wanted something unique to go along with it. The lead violins are played by the talented violinist Nick Montopoli! It's the third theme in the album to use a live instrument.
The track itself utilises all the motifs in the game (Saiko, Yui, Elissu, demon) and builds on them. The one advantage with being the one editing the trailer and composing for it is the fact that I managed to time all the waking up scenes with Saiko's motif. 
This has to be one of my favourite tracks that I've composed for SNSNS, if not my most favourite! I had to utilise a lot of tricks with it. But all in all, I hope it turned out fantastic!
