As Richard Dorfmeister and Rupert Huber get ready to tour North America for the first time in many years, the duo has decided to share the original unreleased version of the track "Looking" (which appeared in an alternate version as the bonus track for the album <i>Odeon</i>). With a disco-informed bassline and drum track laced with delicate keys, this track has us even more excited for the live shows.

The music of Mike Salta aka Gert Nygaard flaunts an eclectic palette, collecting strands from New Orleans funk, 80’s italo disco or Brazilian tropicalia and transforming them into rich and sun-drenched dance music.

His newest single Yaeyama, produced in collaboration with long-time studio partner Mortale, is a sumptuous piece of chillout to call on the summer. A full-bodied groove is adorned with silky organs while a re-purposed 90’s rave-sample gives way to Nygaard’s breezy hand-pan lead. The sound is buzzing, warm and balmy throughout. A joyously squirming trumpet solo to round off the pleasantries as well.

The track comes as part of a run of singles leading up to Mike Salta’s debut album for Music For Dreams.

« Hôtel Costes presents... » is a collection of exclusive music recorded at STUDIO HC, the hotel’s studio, and here we see the series deliver its second album from Midiminuit, the outfit made up of pianist Julien Quentin, bass player Yonatan Levi and electronic musicians Cesar Merveille & Adrien de Maublanc (Masomenos).

Following on from the ‘Round The Clock’ LP back in September 2019, Midiminuit return with more of their atmospheric electronic twist on modern classical and contemporary jazz. Across the project they deliver hazy jazz jams like the bass noodle, wandering keys and metallic percussion fuelled ‘Kitchen Table’, the baroquely unfolding improvised feel of ‘Loop’ and the snaking dynamic groove of ‘Why Is The Bass So Low’.

The collective also veers into more abstract realms with contributions like ‘Welcome’, which features the ethereal stylings of vocalist Hani, the psychedelic opening piece ‘Do This Thing’ and the minimal modulating feel of ‘Barrio Acido’.

The album also presents some more new age aesthetics via the slowly blooming synthesis of ‘Deep In’ and the cinematic soundscapes of ‘Kindness’ which flutter amidst an intricately crafted rhythmic pulse.
