Barefoot - 9128.live 2 Year Birthday Takeover - Exclusive DJ Set

The experience took place virtually on August 20th ~ 23rd 2021 worldwide from the radio platform 9128.live.

Barefoot is based in South West England and has had recent releases on Kizen Records and re:st. His next project, a collaboration EP with The Vision Reels, is set to be released on their new imprint, Captured Visions. His 9128 mix is a journey through ambient and lo-fi styles, featuring unreleased music from himself and other artists in this community.

This August, it has been two years since launching the first iteration of the 9128.live 24/7 streaming site + app. 

We didn’t know back then, that the additional live weekend takeovers would be such an escape for us all during the lockdowns and a way to connect, keep a small community together and discover even more new music. But they ended up becoming some of our fondest memories over the past two years. So we’ll be celebrating this milestone with another marathon takeover on August 20th.

Biography:
Josephine’ Soundscapes is the pseudonym of Jose Salas, an active promoter of alternative culture in Madrid. As a Dj, he always works with a mixture of investigation of the past and a strong commitment to the present. He's part of a_mal_gam_a and CALMA collectives, both working in Spain underground scene. He also hosts a bimonthly radio program on Radio Relativa called "Campos de Marte", focused on experimentation in music.

Deep Breakfast 129 - Josephine' Soundscapes (Morning Contradictions)

Today's premiere is a beautifully written emotion accompanying the inception of a new day produced by Artos Eleven, the alias of Arthur Bðhl from Avignon, and Lyon-based Emiliano Germain, aka Ethernet. Amadis is a closing track on the intriguing Artos Eleven's first "Decayed Tree" EP coming out on the French Melifera Records label. Inspired by the surrounding flora and fauna of southeastern France's landscapes, the four-track EP features different tempos and remixes from Forest on Stasys and Eyvind Blix.

Amadis is a rare case of the sublime interpretation of those peaceful early mornings full of harmony and quietness, properly saturated in intensely positive vitality. Unharried in sensual awakening with dreamlike, meditative stimuli, the track does its fascinating magic in instilling hope, gently nourishing the spirit, and setting an ascending tone ahead.

"Decayed Tree" EP is coming out  via Melifera Records on September 28th

D. Humo considers himself, first and foremost, a record collector who likes to share his collection with the audience telling them different tales depending on the mood and location. He has been doing it for more than fifteen years and this has allowed him, among other projects, to bring his sets to the main clubs in Barcelona and different events in northern Spain as well as Europe (yes, also in Berlin …).

His preferences in terms of styles could be defined as a continuous search for everything between techno and ambient and, for some time now he has been seen to be very comfortable doing sessions based solely on the latter, especially when he chooses the most deep, tribal and sometimes experimental sounds.

A sample also of his great love for this wide musical universe is his radio show "Escala de Grisos", in a local radio station. There, he presents a large part of his collection along with some of the novelties of that moment on a monthly basis.

To record this set, David envisioned a round-trip ton a boat to Jeju Island without losing sight of the kind of music usually released by Oslated and Huinali in honor of his host.

Life moves at such a fast pace that it seems to pass us by before we can really enjoy it. However, it doesn’t have to be this way.

VLB52 is an evolution from Javier Marimon's sound, adapting to a new environment, rain, wet socks, whirling scapes and specially to the sensorial entropy around that our brains are constantly trying to freeze to avoid heavy computations. That is rather speeding up life, surprisingly. 

Javi tells us: “In this live recording, on Rytm, Octatrack and FXs exploring different weather's and now usual wild patterns coming from the forest, there is an intense sound walk around our area hoping you get a bit of that hectic calm life we are also trying to decode”. 

Let’s rebel against a frenetic lifestyle and slow down to enjoy life.
