Off the back of the much played remix Dave Lee did of ‘We Go Together’ back in 2019 he has teamed back up with LA soul singer Raquel Rodriguez. This time for the track 'Undone' off her highly respected ’Sweet Side’ LP. Doing what the man does best, Mr Lee has restructured the track for the Disco Boogie dancefloor. Now four releases in, Razor-N-Tape Reserve continues to deliver the deepness with this EP from the Netherlands’ Junktion. Although a relative upstart on the scene, Junktion has been getting some serious heads nodding lately with releases on Sleazy Beats and Outplay, and the Hot & Bothered EP continues to define his dusty and organic sound. From the summery ease of the title track, to the fresh take on the oft-sampled 'I'm Wishin' to the discofied chugger 'Fling Cleaning' followed by the slow-burning 'Visions of You,' this EP is a beautiful listen from beginning to end. And the kids are gonna dig it too.

Berlin based XXXY starts his latest label adventure with Sour Edits after a successful volume first release from himself a few months back, volume 2 is hot on its heels and will undoubtedly follow in the same direction, definitely a label to look out for this year. SOUR002 belongs to Marcin Krupa, the astronomical tapes label boss provides a perfect addition to the new sour edits line up with this smooth 3-track EP. Each track is uniquely impressive in its own way; the polish sample wizard perfectly creates three euphoric bangers, prepare to be taken on an emotional journey.

We have the pleasure of premiering the first track on the release, ‘Jazz with some house elements’. This Jazz-infused rhythmic weapon is everything we love here at bolting bits and is a stand out track in the EP. Marcin does wonders with the unique melody as it swirls around in a haze of house lushness, but another element I have to bring attention to is the brilliant percussive drums playing looping around tying the whole thing nicely together. Houseum Records draft in Gavinco again for their third release, an up and coming artist, first discovered via HSM001, Various Artists - The Four J's. 

This time the young producer takes full control with his debut solo EP, "Caravella". The 4 tracks roll in the sweet return of Spring and the first rays of sun - Set off on a journey through rich melodies, merging House rhythms and Jazzy atmospheres.

The exploration starts with ‘Caravella’ the lead track of the release. Dreamy trumpet lines float you on the wind while the harmonious melody transports you through soothing atmospheres drenched with colourful jazz overtones.

Drifting into 'Assam', we’re treated to a smoked out electro funk fusion. Electric guitars play against the pure backdrop created by the jazz flute while, this time, the trumpet drives home the lower frequencies, leading you through the psychedelic haze.

Turn the wheel and move towards warmer horizons with 'Le Désir' - tropical rhythms created by a cocktail of frenzied percussions, enhanced by the sun. ‘Le Désir’ exudes an aura of hypnotising sensuality.

The sun dips below the horizon as we lower the anchor at the final destination. ’Lu Sentiments’ eases you into the night under deliciously dreamy synths. The rhythm is soothing and the echoes of sweet voices resonate in you...

From Black Madonna to DJ Artwork, DJ Harvey to Detroit Swindle, Gerd Janson, Busy P to Moodyman and Honey Dijon. The tracks are getting played everywhere. 

So it makes sense to come up with some reworks of the album tracks.

On the 2nd remix EP, Sworn Virgins from DeeWee, Art of Tones and Rahaan made new versions.. and as the “Delirio Italiano” track is getting so much love Kapote made an alternative version. 

But here is a taste of Art of Tones' stellar revision.
