Madrid-born producer and DJ Jesús Gonsev (Jesús González Sevilla) is a respected name in the underground house scene. Founder of Troubled Kids Records, he built a platform that blends deep house and tech-house with touches of jazz, soul, and funk, releasing music from international talents like Kai Alce, Glenn Underground, Trevor Deep Jr., Owen Jay or Melchior Sultana.

Gonsev’s own productions carry a warm, elegant, and groove-rich sound. His acclaimed album A New Life (2020) explored deep house, breaks, and techno, while EPs like Unlimited Sky (featuring Glenn Underground and Patrice Scott) and Genki Dama confirmed his versatility. Collaborations such as From Detroit to Madrid with Javonntte highlight his commitment to bridging house traditions across continents.

On stage, Gonsev has performed at key clubs and festivals in Ibiza, Malta, South Africa, and the UK. Known for sets described as “deep and high-class,” he fuses soulful storytelling with infectious rhythm, always rooted in the heritage of Chicago and Detroit.

Today feels special for New York, and not only for New York. So I want to share this recording with you. A small reminder, first and foremost to myself: love is an action. This one is for my best mate - someone who’s been in my life for more than thirty years. Ade’s asked me for a mix for ages, but I think I needed all that time just to choose which tracks to put on the damn thing, as he loves music as much as me and wanted to give a spread of the music we both love.

It’s a little tribute to the life we’ve lived together - the adventures, the heavy conversations, the times we held each other up (him, more than me), and the countless moments that somehow stitched our lives together.

There aren’t many people you grow alongside in this world. Ade is one of them. Someone who’s seen every version of me and never flinched. Someone I love like a brother, and someone I’ll always stand by.

This is for everything we’ve been through, and everything still ahead of us.
