When he finally came into his own in the Verve/Fantasy years, his creative talent was matched with sublime audio engineering delivering a crisp and unique sound. From the extended bongo rhythms to the soothing sounds of the vibraphone, Cal was a visionary who managed to bring a new attention to Latin music without compromise.
