Renaissance present a very exciting project, that sees revered duo, Frankey & Sandrino take on the unmistakable vocal of Nadia Ali. 

F&S need little introduction, they're renowned for impeccable curation, both on their label (Sum Over Histories) and in their DJ sets and, as is proof positive here, a refined studio technique that's seen them release on the world's best labels, not least, Innervisions, Diynamic, Keinemusik, Crosstown, Watergate (plus more)... Few can claim such an enviable 'full-house' of marquee imprints. 

Nadia, meanwhile, is undoubtedly one of electronic music's most revered vocalists. Having first found fame as the voice of Iio's iconic 'Rapture', she's gone on to work with some of the scenes's biggest names and labels, creating a genre-defying portfolio of enviable scope. 

Needless to say, such pedigree sets the bar very high and 'I See You' does not disappoint. The original version is a beautiful house record that is as much designed for listening repeat as it is dancefloor devastation. Peaktime is not ignored though; Sasha Carassi, arguably one of this year's greatest success stories, whips up a powerful indie techno storm with signature aplomb.

Tash's Movement Limited rounds out the month of October by welcoming Fractal Architect to the label for his debut EP. With a career that spans the better part of a decade, UK artist Daniel Watts aka Fractal Architect has carved out a unique sonic identity in the world of electronic music, resulting in a string of uniquely crafted records that present a resonant worldly sound. Long standing imprints 3rd Avenue, Cinematique, Manual Music and Stellar Fountain have been landing spots for his far reaching creations. Movement Recordings has also been a vehicle for Fractal Architect, beginning in 2019 with his 'Hideaway' EP to most recently in 2020 with a three-track affair 'Not Going Back'. Now, continuing to build a bond with the Movement label collective, Fractal Architect debuts on the Limited division with 'Resurrection'. Comprised of three distinctive and equally compelling creations, it is the deep, nourishing sounds of' 'Canna' which sets the tone for the EP. Instantly seductive, its delicate breakbeats, meandering arps and key-changing bass swells provide an emotive framework for hopeful pads and vocal overlays to deliver a goosebump worthy finale. The second and also title selection 'Resurrection' follows a similar sonic profile but with a greater lean towards the dancefloor. Fractal Architect operates at the peak of his creative powers across a gorgeous seven minute running time, effortlessly melding creamy melodies with balmy atmospheres and perfectly manicured beats. Rounding out the release is 'Virga' which showcases Fractal Architect's knack for storytelling. Full of detail and idiosyncrasies, it's a hopeful voyage where the UK artist explores a storyboard of breathy vocal elements and meandering musical coactions. A perfect mood lifting excursion to cap off the release on a poignant note.

Responsible for over a century of tracks across a plethora of leading imprints, Dabeat & Kamilo Sanclemente are a production powerhouse. Now making their Proportion debut, the duo showcase their “Interstellar Pulse / Night Clouds” EP.

Hugely successful artists in their own their own rights, Dabeat & Kamilo Sanclemente have formed a prolific and fruitful creative partnership since a debut remix of Alfonso Muchacho’s “Things Change” on Stellar Fountain in 2016. Since then, the Colombian duo have seen their original work feature on the likes of Timeless Moment, Perfecto Black, Hernan Cattaneo’s Sudbeat Music and D-Nox’s Sprout. A partnership that commands respect and support from a global fraternity of fans and peers alike, Dabeat and Kamilo Sanclemente now join forces once more with a pair of original offerings on Dmitry Molosh’s ever-impressive label.

“Interstellar Pulse” quickly gathers pace with its pounding kick and complex rhythmic arrangement. Evolving easily through its club-friendly character, a sub-bassline syncopates tightly against the grooved backdrop before a series of light and airy melodic phrases complement each other. Cascading and entwined with interlocking threads, they juxtapose against the weight of the bass and kick. An additional series of components arrive at the breakdown courtesy of new sustained bassline and cadenced synth motif before hitting its stride once more in the third movement to devastating dancefloor effect.

Following the rhythmic narrative of its partner track, “Night Clouds” is infused with a sultry bass presence, rolling groove and shaker-infused top-line. Developing with consummate ease and intimate dancefloor knowhow, a central melody shines brightly through a meticulously assembled cast of sonic characters as it coruscates gently through the early stages in shimmering delays. Finding new direction after a pause for breath at the spine-tingling mid-section, a popping, cadenced synth line opens up post-breakdown to create a new focus in the second half before the familiar motif returns to glorious open-filtered effect in the final stages.

A pair of new tracks find Dabeat and Kamilo Sanclemente as a central star in the progressive house firmament with “Interstellar Pulse / Night Clouds”.

Wow, hadn't realised what a journey SoundCloud would take me on.  After many years of passive listening to music I've dieted on a variety of tastes. My appetite for new sounds is undiminished and SC provides plenty of food. I am not a musician and have only recently started to listen positively to the sounds.
