Jacid Jam from SQL & low& with Out of Sorts remix. In a serendipitous turn of events, three DJs found themselves entwined in the vibrant tapestry of electronic music, culminating in a collaborative EP set to enrapture audiences worldwide. The trio, comprising Goetzlich(Switchbox), Pim(SQL), and (Marcelo)Dreamawaken, embarked on a musical odyssey that began over a decade ago in the heart of Cologne. Despite their initial connection in 2010, it wasn't until 2023 that destiny intervened once more, catalysing a reunion that would redefine their musical trajectory. Goetzlich and Pim found themselves sharing the stage at the esteemed Evolution Festival in southern Germany, igniting a dormant spark of collaboration. The seamless fusion of their sounds reignited their creative synergy, beckoning them towards a shared vision. Recognizing Marcelo's existing partnership with Goetzlich under the moniker "low&", Pim seamlessly joined the fold, adding depth and dimension to their collective endeavor. In this debut EP on Beat & Path, you can sense an unwavering connection formed over years of mutual appreciation and artistic journeying. The track titled "Jacid Jam" whisks you away to a distant planet nestled at the edge of the cosmos. A mesmerizing Moog ambiance envelops your thoughts, guiding them to distant realms. Handling remix duties, Out of Sorts infuse the groove with strength, layering vintage percussion reminiscent of Plastikman atop an entrancing, acidic bassline. It is rumoured that both independently caught the same low-end signal some 18 years ago - it landed them on a shared spatial plane, otherwise known as ‘London’, whereupon they discovered a shared fascination in underground music and particularly deep and groovy frequencies.

For over a decade, we have shared our vibrations, both locally and on an international scale, releasing on some of the world’s most respected labels and captivating crowds across all four corners of the globe. Along the way, we have not just made friends, but built a family. And now we seek to pave a path for those who follow. Nurturing talent from across New Zealand and Australia, Beat & Path is harnessing the region’s musical powers to create a label of international distinction. Our drum roll is to showcase the finest talent that our two nests have to offers, whilst nurturing young blood and cross pollinating with first-rate producers from around the globe.

Beat & Path specialises in deep, organic vibrations with a signature electronic edge. From homegrown dusty desert twangs to inspiring sounds from throughout the world, the label aims to take you on it’s own unique journey through electronic soundscapes from an angle that you may have never seen. Since our inception in 2016, the label has enlisted a promising slew of up and coming artists to its roster, including the likes of Caly Jandro, Philosophia, Boy Oh Boy, Moontide, Beacon Bloom, The Oddness, Jamie Stevens, Sanoi, Timmus, whilst showcasing world class producers Thankyou City, Be Svendsen, Nicone, Oliver Koletzki, Madmotormiquel, David Keno, Timboletti, Sabo, KMLN & many more.

No stranger to the deeper forms & shapes of sound, dreamAwaken has been expressing himself through music for the past 20 years. The Brazilian born has been living half of his life in Europe, moving to London in 2002 to study Sound Engineering & Music Production and 10 years after, relocating to Sweden, where hes now been living for another 12 years.

Not one to be confined to a single sound, dreamAwaken plays with different genres and methods of production while composing music that aims to bend the mind and alter the perception of reality. Communications between the digital and the analog world intrigue and propel the visions forward, alive and imperfect as we are. Since the conception of this music project, dreamAwaken has enjoyed playing in clubs and festivals all over Europe and his homeland Brazil, while being featured on labels such as Seven Villas, Lucidflow, Traum, Wayu, Open Records, Iboga Records and more. The music in each release may differ, but a trippy signature dream-like quality is always present and makes the connection. 

Marcelo has now been living with his family in Sweden since 2012. Extending beyond his project dreamAwaken, Marcelo's hunger for honing his craft brought him to extend his audio studies and in the end of 2017 Marcelo completed a 3 years program in Sound Design & Music Production at the famous Linneu University in Sweden. During his studies, Marcelo was welcomed as an engineer trainee at the mighty Pama Studios, known for their extensive resume producing Billboard hits for the last 20 years and being one of the most cutting edge recording studios in Sweden. 

Fresh-off his studies Marcelo got invited to work at Skogen Studio, a fully equipped recording studio located in the Swedish country side, run by professional drummer and music producer, Martin Öhman alongside professional touring drummer, sound engineer and music producer Ottilia Säll. But in 2019 Marcelo decided to part ways with Skogen Studio and open his own Analog Mastering & Mixing business, 'Dub On Audio', to focus on what he is most passionate about and well-versed. Currently, his days are a mix of creating music for his projects and mastering/mixing music for some of the best artists in the dance scene as well as upcoming talents.
