Earlier in the year the trio that is Pink Skull released a debut LP that was full of a metallic, liquid,and raw sounds, delving into urban landscapes and deep space industrial wastelands. Here select tracks from it get remixed by a fine selection of modern talents – Raxon, disCerN, Stefan Zand Balcazar & Sordo - and have plenty of new life breathed into them.

First up, ‘My Other Feet is My Car’ gets reworked by Balcazar & Sordo, the hot Mexican act that has released on labels like Culprit and Audio Tonic. Their version is a dramatic, macho discoaffair with tight drums, slick arpeggiated melodies and crisp synth lines all building to dramatic peaks.

Raxon, label manager at Dubai’s foremost imprint Audio Tonic, then flips ‘Ryryryry’ into a freaky bit of wonky and unhinged tech house with bendy toms, echoing voices and lots of little alien spirits. It’s a peak time, main room bit of tension-fuelled house that will undoubtedly bring dancefloors together.

Stefan Z, who has had his own full EP on the label back in late 2013, then goes to work on‘Abalone’ and opts for a sparse remaking that is propped up with a bobbling, dirty bassline. Above it industrial synths are allowed to ring out into a chilly night sky before more radian patterns unfold and his bleak vision of the future full manifests itself.

Lastly disCerN aka esteemed DJs and producers Jonny Cruz and Silky then team up to remix the same track. Their version is a deep and constantly decaying house effort with feathery percussion, swaying drums and some serious somber chords that strike a truly introspective vibe.

This is another fine packages of remixes from some of the day’s best.

Amsterdam based record label Night Noise moves into the vinyl market and kicks things off in style with this release from the Rumanian Gemini Brothers duo. The titletrack Lost Babylon is backed with three delightful remixes from In Flagranti, Daniel Kyo and Moscoman, with whom we shared the decks few days ago in London. The Disco Halal headhoncho provides here a 11 minutes long epic dreamy synthetic rework, lovely ! Out in two weeks

The white walls were illuminated by the glow of the morning sun. They appeared a stark contrast to the royal blue texture of the sky which radiated warmth in the early hours. Birds soared eagerly upon the breeze above the water down below as the flickering leaves of palm trees blew gracefully in the wind. It was a beautiful scene, like something from a picture book or postcard. Soon this would all be gone. 

Deepwave are set to release a new EP from Sebastian Deluca, however it was the remix from label boss Ian Metty which caught our upmost attention.

JMII - Pisco Laundromat

It’s been two years since Stefan Z last released on this label, but the three tracks he serves up prove the wait has been more than worth it.

The Berlin based Canadian is the boss of the Rhombus label and is a top electronic production talent. He makes his sounds stand out with slick vocals or moving melodic elements, most likely because of his formally trained piano and trumpet playing skills. He’s had support from the likes of Sasha, Solomun and Adriatique, and his label parties in Vancouver were key in developing the city’s underground scene.

The super title track goes first and is a freaky number with spacecraft circling the groove, building tension in the melodic riffs and futurism in the drums. It’s a dramatic track with heavy, lumpy kicks and one to jolt the floor into action.

‘Borni’ is another long and involving tune, this time with more mystery and suspense in the way it builds. The drums get you marching as synths and ghoulish motifs pan about to creepy effect. It’s a real set building track that keeps you on edge.

Lastly, ‘Cipe’ is the toughest of the lot, with stiff hits and withering cosmic chords speaking of an intergalactic war. Underpinned by warm bass, it’s a widescreen cinematic affair with real beauty in the pads that eventually take over the show.

All three tracks here are mini epics that really take you on a trip.

Released under hfn music and curated by Kasper Bjørke and Sexy Lazer, Sisters & Brothers showcases a variety of amazing rising talent from around and about their worldwide ecosystem of friends in music. With the EP scheduled for release this Friday, we've the pleasure of giving you the first glance of Leif Müller's contribution in full. Titled 'Nova', his track is a sleek and low slung hypnotic dancefloor roller featuring a bubbling arpeggio and transcendent, beautiful pads.
