nocturnae is the lead track from the stunning ethereal vocal-infused EP from anita tatlow, featuring collaborations with four eminent ambient artists (be still the earth, cephas azariah, jameson nathan jones, and salt of the sound).

the title translates to 'belonging to the night' and was inspired by the peace that is found in the hours of darkness, and the solace that can be found within.

with this EP, anita wanted to capture both the natural and spiritual elements of the night, which are reflected in the vocals, themes and instrumentation of each song: 
vespers (whispers)
aurora (dawn)
solis (sun)
nocturnae (belonging to the night)
sanctus (sanctuary)

I am a long time visual artist and writer, working on a series of 'Ikonic Mixed-Media Constructions' or (Sacred works of art that span the ancient unearthed to the contemporary). Likewise, I am deeply engaged with writing (music reviews, art and ideas). I love music, everything from 'early music' to classical music on the margins to progressive rock to avant jazz to ambient electronics and techno. I wish to always engage with new and interesting music, while helping to disseminate and share it with others.
