Live, Love, Machine...

Love Machine is a restorative musical and wellness getaway in the sun-bathed and boulder-strewn mountains of Jacumba, California. This magical escape returns May 6-9th 2022 with an all-new third stage and a tasteful line-up of international musical legends old and new, including Roman Flugel, Âme, Doc Martin, Riva Starr, Marc Houle, Colyn, Oliver Koletzki, Jimi Jules, Jennifer Cardini, Sacha Robotti, Serge Devant, Trikk, Echonomist, D’Julz, David Hohme, Mihai Popivicu, and many more. 

 Located an hour outside San Diego, Love Machine is an all-encompassing mix of art, yoga, music, workshops, and lifestyle awareness with experts and performers from the local areas as well as around the world. It is located well away from the hustle and bustle of everyday life in the stunning Jacumba Hot Springs, an unincorporated community in the Mountain Empire area of southeastern San Diego County. It boasts a recently renovated restaurant with two pools and a spa and a wealth of natural features, a hot spring, and clean air that will make you forget all your woes and worries in an instant. 

On top of the usual two, this year will feature a third stage to host day parties, and it will be nestled in the center of the festival grounds and decked out with a custom pool, cabanas, shaded tapestry, lounges, misting station, and bar that allow you to take advantage of the hot desert sun and enjoy a little vibration while jumping in for a dip to escape the heat.

Love Machine is an idyllic getaway and a perfect way to set your life and restore much-needed balance with like-minded people and a world-class soundtrack.

Bio:	
Music has been a part of my life ever since I can remember. I was lucky enough to have had music lessons at an early age, with formal piano and theory lessons later coming later on. Coming from a small New England town, I didn't have much exposure to electronic music until about the mid-1990s, when the rave and drug culture made its way across the country. I started producing during this time; most of the early stuff was down-tempo or minimal-house type music. Some of my music made it on the site MP3.com, which was vastly different at the time. Under the name RLOX, I had a track called "Come With Me" (2000) make it to the #43 spot on the electronic chats. Quite an achievement considering the pool of over a hundred-thousand artists! 

Around this time I started DJing some local clubs, just trying to earn a bit of extra money. I never thought of myself as a DJ but more of a music fan, a collector of vinyl and CDs. My playing style has changed a bit throughout the years, but my focus was always on finding new sounds, new ways of telling a story. Over the last 5 years I've played a variety of clubs around the northeast as well as the occasional guest spot on an internet radio show.

Born and Raised in Guadeloupe, FWI, Mala Ika is a French DJ and Producer. Earlier her passion for digging electronic musique helps her become one of the founders of the Media Beweird and Label Weirdos Records. Known for being workaholic and creative, she provides a spicy and original music. After few years and a lockdown intense, She came back with a new Indie dance style and vision.

MR. TOPHAT

Born in Sweden in 1990, Rudolf Nordström—better known as Mr. Tophat—has long been a defining force in Stockholm’s electronic music underground. A producer, DJ, and sonic architect, his deep passion for dance music has driven him to create hypnotic, genre-blurring productions that transcend traditional club sounds.

With a history of curating unique musical experiences, Mr. Tophat co-founded the revered Karlovak label with Art Alfie in 2011, a platform for house music built for nights that defy endings. He also helms Junk Yard Connections, established in 2008, a label known for its strictly limited, no repress approach—making each release a sought-after collector’s item.

His solo work has garnered critical acclaim, with both of his solo albums receiving Grammy nominations, a testament to his ability to push the boundaries of electronic music while maintaining a deeply personal and innovative sound. Following the release of "This Is Pop" (PIAS x Twilight Enterprise), he continues to explore new sonic territories, with upcoming music on Karlovak and a highly anticipated new album with Axel Boman, blending dancefloor euphoria with avant-garde textures.

His collaborations span both the mainstream and the underground, having worked with Robyn, Kleerup, XOV, Lune, and Jelly Crystal, among others. He has been spotlighted by major global media outlets, including MTV, New York Times, Entertainment Weekly, Billboard, and Pitchfork, further cementing his status as a forward-thinking artist with a broad cultural impact.

On stage, Mr. Tophat continues to appear at some of the world’s most intriguing venues and festivals—sometimes in grandiose settings, other times in shadowy, elusive late-night sanctuaries. Whether behind the decks or orchestrating immersive live performances, he remains an unpredictable and compelling force in electronic music.

Hailing from a war-ridden nation that put me in the spotlight when it came to racism against minorities, moving out was a ray of light. But, things weren't all that different. In any part of the world, the one thing that seemed to flare up communities was inequality. Except when it comes to music. When people of different cultures and nations come together to listen to their favorite music or jam, they forget where they belong in society. They ignore the heirachy. And act as one, one whole being that listens to the sounds and the tremors, nothing else. This is where I found my haven. Music united us, no holding back. No restrictions.

With both positive and negative experiences garnered from my base, I captured a soothing blend of layered music that has varied textures to take you on a modern yet soulful journey. Existing in a parallel world where no social constraints exist, for the time being, the sweet melancholic music expands the listener's horizon. This is my holy grail to rejuvenation.

The blend of rich and lush yet laidback sounds  I create/listen guides me from the darkest of places and helps me see the light. Even on the gloomiest of days, I find solace. By putting it out there for the world to hear, I hope it helps others as it did me. Peace out.

MUSIC PROGRAMMING

Bill's move to Chicago in 1988 was crucial in the development of his DJ & Production career. Growing up in Miami, he had been involved in various parts of the music industry, from working at Flamingo Record Pool (run by Bill Kelly of WMC Fame), to playing guitar for the band "Life In Sodom" (80’s Synth/Goth Band). His interest in both House & Industrial music inspired him to make his move to the Windy City, and as far as timing, it couldn't have been any better. Bill quickly became involved in the night scene with residency at clubs like Shelter Nightclub, Crobar, & Smart Bar. Bill is a key figure in Chicago’s second wave of House & Techno producers. He’s considered an big influence by Dj's like Black Madonna, Kink, Axel Boman, & Matrixxman. His styles vary from current Detroit Techno & Chicago Acid, to rare House & Italo Disco tracks. Currently he frequents clubs like Panorama Bar in Berlin, and holds a weekly residency, as well as a monthly in Miami.



PRODUCTION

His studio work began with a remix of Kay Ladrae's “Lack Of Love” with Vince Lawrence, followed by a string of releases, including an LP on Trax Records. He has worked with numerous Chicago legends like Darryl Pandy, & Shay Jones (Ministry) to name a few. He has recently relaunched two record labels with a string of releases lined up till next year. His current releases include La Vida Sigue Igual EP on Dark Entries (Savage Hymn alias), a new EP for Chi Wax records, as well as several re-issues.
