This past music week was one for the books. With top artists feeling right at home, they threw down amazing sets all around for the intimate crowd and vibe.

As a San Francisco transplant living in Miami, DJ Behrouz Nazari has brought some of those far-out free-spirited West Coast vibes to mingle with the local underground dance music scene at his beloved South Beach hotspot, Do Not Sit On The Furniture. Since first opening its doors in 2013, this tiny but mighty room has been graced by such international house and techno luminaries as Nick Warren, Steve Bug and Visionquest. Of course, Behrouz is an internationally acclaimed DJ in his own right, with a hectic itinerary that takes him from the dusty Nevada desert for Burning Man to the beaches of Ibiza for the summer season. Needless to say, we were stoked when Behrouz offered to contribute the new installment of our monthly DJ podcast. Our next Telling Tales comes from New York-based Naveen G (Cityfox/Listed), whose epic reinterpretation of The Owl by Twelve Minds will be released on our Second Editions compilation on Friday 23 October.

For his contribution to Telling Tales, Naveen has crafted a mix that encapsulates the push and pull of a long and memorable night out. It lets you get lost in the deep and hypnotic sounds by building a solid groove, then pulls you out with a single about-face that is both unexpected and welcome. The mix culminates in some songs that you would rarely hear out, but which provide a solid closing and almost encore feel to the set end.

On basis of constant movement between the genres House, Techno & Ambient, the Pastamusik Member Thomas Werner knows how to prevent being put in a drawer.

For him, the art is in the detail – therein Thomas also sees the heart of a DJ. So he is definitely associated with the squad of storytellers and totally moves back any kind of selfstaging.

Inspired by ideals such as Barnt, Lena Willikens, Daniel Bortz, Red Axes, Bob Moses or Eduardo De La Calle he creates an own „soundworld“ in his sets, which reflects throughout unaffected by any hypes with fervor the passion to the otherness.

Thomas also receives special praises from stars of the scene like Marcus Worgull, Konstantin Sibold, Adriatique or Sascha Sibler for the outstanding caprice in his sets, which are peppered with well-defined peaks & breaks, velocity variations and not least the skillful interplay of current and long-forgotten sounds.

With the Pastamusik Gang he's already for quite some time in the spotlight of the regional scene in Germany and consistently personifies anew the avant-garde of the underground. Thus it's no wonder that he's an integral part of Munich's playground with performances in
whose most-wanted clubs such as „Harry Klein“, „Kong“ or „Rote Sonne“.

At the moment he's making things hum by focussing on producing his first EP. So you can be curious about the near future of Thomas. With this Exclusive Set he shows for the first time his skills on both Vinyl and CD, so please be gentle with him.

Ferrer's remix has an abundance of low-end rumble. It's a dwarfing cut that pulsates and winds with menace with some electrifying synths and tribal percussion that will whip you into a frenzy after 120 seconds. This is big.

Naveen G is no newcomer to the scene having made his start in 1996 hosting his own show on the influential WNUR 89.3FM Streetbeat Radio that launched the careers of many of his peers originating in Chicago.  Having caught the attention of world class DJs with his very first productions which were licensed to the seminal Global Underground series, Naveen G has fostered his own sound, one that is consistently hailed as exploring the late night side of the dancefloor, straying far from the conventional formula, yet still garnering acclaim from DJs and clubbers alike.
 
From breaks to techno and everything in between, or manning the ambient room for many hours, Naveen G's productions reflect his DJing ability to adapt to the room and the headliner, drawing on his diverse range.  Equally comfortable warming up a room properly as a resident for Cityfox NYC or playing on his own deep into the night, Naveen has brought his unique and varied style to the unsuspecting dancefloors across the world from South America to Asia, where they have learned to expect the unexpected.  His breadth of knowledge about dance music from years of digging lends to his role as A&R for Manjumasi Records alongside Atish and Mark Slee.  With support for his productions from Sasha, John Digweed, Satoshi Tomiie,  Hernan Cattaneo and others, as well as gigs at beachside bars to international festivals such as ADE, BPM, and WMC, alongside a wide range of DJs such as Tale of Us, Adriatique, Mano Le Tough,  Cassy, and Danny Howells, Naveen G continues to gain new followers across the board.
