The NDYD Radio Show EP416

This was my first one for a little while - personal and technological issues have been getting in the way once again. So it felt good to be back on for a full two hour mix! Started with a small tribute to the legend Jimmy Cliff, as the news of his passing broke a few hours before. Then into some moody and deep vibes for a while until I switched things up, we went to Africa for a while, slowed things down for some future funk, then cranked matters back up for some disco house stompers and a cheeky demo from myself. Ricardo Torres is a West Coast DJ whose sound blends deep, soulful house and disco with the smooth, sun-kissed energy of Los Angeles. His mixes are crafted for true dance floor devotees—uplifting, groovy, and deeply rooted in the underground.

Ricardo began his DJ journey in 1987 at a college radio station in Montreal, later discovering Chicago House and falling in love with its raw emotion and rhythm. After moving to Los Angeles in 1995, he found inspiration in the city’s soulful spirit and from influential DJs like Jay-J, Marques Wyatt, Julius Papp, Mark Farina, and Miguel Migs.

An early pioneer of online mix sharing in 2000, Ricardo quickly gained international recognition, leading to global performances and radio syndication. In 2016, he partnered with Germany’s Nu Disco Your Disco (NDYD) to launch the NDYD Radio Show, a weekly showcase of modern Nu Disco and soulful house that continues to attract a devoted worldwide audience.
