Welcome to EP209 of the NDYD Radio Show. This set is my coming out mix (meaning, DJing at clubs again ha ha). Next month I am playing at the beautiful Supernova Club in Seattle WA for a Disco/House night in which I will have the honor to throw down some tunes for some friendly familiar faces. Welcome to EP214 of the NDYD Radio Show. A very special episode indeed as it was recorded this past weekend at my first live gig in over a year at a proper real super club. I had the opportunity to close off the night as the headliner at this new amazing disco/house club called Supernova in beautiful Seattle. I am at lost for words on how much fun it was and how amazing the crowd is. That goes with out saying about the promoter Zac, his staff, and friends in the Emerald City such as Ajax - @ajax-6 (who has a been a guest on the show many times) and the beautiful and wonderful people he introduced me to. With out him this experience would have never been so unforgettable. If you are ever in Seattle you have to make a stop at Supernova. Especially on the weekly night that I played at which is called 'Staying Alive' and Disco rules! Tell em' Ricardo sent you :)

EP-226 is here! and a couple of notes about it. First, yes it is my B-day episode cause it falls on the day i recorded it this year. Secondly, I recorded this episode right after I went to see and hear Louie Vega play here in Hollywood as he was head-lining a DEEP event with Marques Wyatt . He, being the Master that he is, played AMAZING and got me so inspired that as soon as I got home (which was real late) I turned on the decks and got cooking. You can hear how he inspired me from the beginning of the show. Since it was my B-day a couple of friends joined me and well, I played for them and turned on the recorder. Nobody had to twist my rubber arm for that. I was having so much fun that I even took out a couple of vinyl records that I still had and used to play in the mid-80s when I was into the whole New Wave thing in High School and College.

For the millennial fans, vinyl records are 12" plastic discs that we used to physically touch to cue up and to play music from 😁

It sucks to get old but it sure is fun to still play music - and it keeps me young 😉

Ricardo Torres, a West Coast DJ, is known for blending deep, soulful house and disco with a smooth, sultry West Coast vibe. His music is crafted for true dance music enthusiasts, delivering uplifting, groovy, and sexy experiences rooted in the underground scene.

Ricardo’s DJ journey began in 1987 at a college radio station in Montreal, Canada, where he initially spun industrial electronic music. By 1988, he was introduced to Chicago House and was captivated by its fresh energy, changing his musical direction. In 1995, he moved to Los Angeles, where the city’s sun-drenched, soulful vibe and influences from DJs like Jay-J, Marques Wyatt, Julius Papp, Mark Farina, and Miguel Migs drew him toward the deeper West Coast sound.

In 2000, Ricardo pioneered sharing his mixes online, a bold and innovative step that garnered him international recognition. This exposure led to global performances and opportunities, while he also became a syndicated radio host on satellite and online platforms.

Around 2016 Ricardo partnered with Germany’s Nu Disco Your Disco (NDYD), a leading advocate for the Nu Disco genre. Their collaboration birthed the NDYD Radio Show, which Ricardo hosts weekly, showcasing top global talent and steadily growing a loyal listener base. For Ricardo, Nu Disco offers a modern bridge for the soulful West Coast vibe to resonate with newer generations.
