Funkier Sounds celebrated its 6th birthday with an hour of tunes from me and then an hour of tunes from a DJ and producer that I’ve been into forever. My hour was the usual mix - starting things mid-tempo and funky, bringing things down a notch and then cranking things a touch with a few promo goodies before the handover.

In hour 2 I was dead chuffed to welcome none other than Fingerman. Gregg’s a bit of a legend in the game, and someone who I looked up to loads before I got into producing. Love that I’ve put out a couple of bits on his annual Hot Digits compilations (eyes on this year!), love that we hung out at Glasto a few years back, and love that he’s done a brilliant mix for my show! It’s the expected level of lushness, launching straight in after the trademark spoken intro. Gets quite full on towards the end too, but always keeping it cool, well-mixed and very Fingerman.

The NDYD Radio Show EP388

I recently got to play at the long running daytime disco, funk and house event MFSB in Edinburgh and although I didn't manage to record the set live on the day I've recreated the experience here with all the tracks that I played. Fingerman Goes To MFSB 2025

It had been a while since the last 'Mushroom Yacht'. I was really feeling that jazzy hip-hop this week and I said to myself 'I am due...' 

So here is Volume 4 of this series that was 100% inspired by Mark Farina's 'Mushroom Jazz'. See what I did there with the name?  :)

The NDYD Radio Show EP389 - Mushroom Yacht vol 4

Killer Boogie returned to the  myhouseradio.fm airwaves with episode #28 of DeGama’s musical extravaganza!

DeGama takes the reins for the whole two hours again - delving into his ‘Past and Present’ curiosity box for another visit with old classics and showcasing some current and future goodies for your listening pleasure.

Breath of Radiance

Ricardo Torres, a West Coast DJ, is known for blending deep, soulful house and disco with a smooth, sultry West Coast vibe. His music is crafted for true dance music enthusiasts, delivering uplifting, groovy, and sexy experiences rooted in the underground scene.

Ricardo’s DJ journey began in 1987 at a college radio station in Montreal, Canada, where he initially spun industrial electronic music. By 1988, he was introduced to Chicago House and was captivated by its fresh energy, changing his musical direction. In 1995, he moved to Los Angeles, where the city’s sun-drenched, soulful vibe and influences from DJs like Jay-J, Marques Wyatt, Julius Papp, Mark Farina, and Miguel Migs drew him toward the deeper West Coast sound.

In 2000, Ricardo pioneered sharing his mixes online, a bold and innovative step that garnered him international recognition. This exposure led to global performances and opportunities, while he also became a syndicated radio host on satellite and online platforms.

Around 2016 Ricardo partnered with Germany’s Nu Disco Your Disco (NDYD), a leading advocate for the Nu Disco genre. Their collaboration birthed the NDYD Radio Show, which Ricardo hosts weekly, showcasing top global talent and steadily growing a loyal listener base. For Ricardo, Nu Disco offers a modern bridge for the soulful West Coast vibe to resonate with newer generations.

While underground music trends have evolved over the decades, Ricardo’s passion remains unwavering: playing music that inspires people to get up, dance, and celebrate the timeless groove of house music.
