Leeds’ alternative guitar band The Golden Age of TV have made a quick impression on the scene.

Their whip-smart drums lock in with gloriously fuzzed out bass and disconcertingly swirling guitars bounce around your ears.

Over just a few releases the band have managed to impress cultural gatekeepers, and steadily build a following. Huw Stephens at BBC Radio 1 is a fan, to go alongside support from 6 Music, BBC Introducing and Amazing Radio. Press wise takes from DIY, The Line of Best Fit and Clash, have positioned them as indie risers to watch, with the buzzy blogosphere also propelling them to attention.

The live side too has seen exciting opportunities for the group. Support slots with Another Sky, CHAI and Marsicans bringing them to a wider audience, as well as performances at Reading and Leeds, Live at Leeds and Liverpool Sound City festivals.

Wormfood is a London-based record label and management company founded in November 2007.

We work closely with artists from a range of genres including afro, jazz, soul, hiphop, electronic, balkan, reggae and all points between. Current roster includes Nubiyan Twist, Afriquoi, United Vibrations, Electric Jalaba, John Fairhurst, MC Xander + many more.

We aim:
- to promote and nurture underground talent
- to bridge the gap between live and electronic, global and local
- to create a fun, safe and positive environment for music, with a strong focus on dancing, enjoyment and community

Nubiyan Twist are a Leeds born, London based musical collective. Orchestrated by guitarist/producer Tom Excell, they create a unique, infectious sound in an eclectic mix of styles, drawing on jazz, hip-hop, afrobeat, latin, soul, reggae and dance music.  

With a 10 piece live show featuring a 4 piece horn section, vocalists, electronics and an international (Brazil/UK) rhythm section, Nubiyan Twist create a powerful and unforgettable experience.  

Their debut album received strong support across the Jazz, World music and Hip-hop press, with support from sources as diverse as Huey Morgan, David Rodigan, Craig Charles, The Independent, Songlines, Afropunk and SBTV. This was followed up with Siren Song in May 2016.

The band have performed on huge stages across the world, being chosen by David Byrne to perform at Queen Elizabeth Hall for the south bank’s Meltdown festival, selling out London’s iconic Jazz Cafe, and rocking festival stages from Fusion to Wilderness, Boomtown to Edinburgh Jazz Festival, with their powerful sound and unique blend of styles.
