It took a lost weekend in a hotel in Amsterdam
and double pneumonia in a single room.
And the sickest joke was the price of the medicine.

This morning I woke up from a deep, unquiet sleep
with ashtray clothes and this lonelyheart`s pen
with which I wrote for you a lovesong in tattoo
upon my palm.

I was a king bee with a head full of attitude.

I came to the place where I was born

All of the people they just ignored,

My golden past as faded like my tan
Nothing ever lasts in the sand

Once a king, now just an old man

Withered away like the wood beneath my feet
Stressed about bills, fees and receipts
Once I had no worries and I slept on the beach
I had it all and nothing was out of reach

Just a boy with the sun upon his skin
Love was unavoidable as the wind

leave me again and again

Welcome and enjoy! Thank you so much for following. When I was very very young and started writing sad love songs my friends began to call me Nicky Blue. Originally from New Jersey. My youth was influenced by Bruce Springsteen to Elvis Costello, Child of the 80's. These days I can't get enough of Tegan & Sara, David Gray, Connor OBerst and Butch Walker!
