The latest installment in our free download series welcomes Nicolas Rada for his third appearance. Upon beginning his career in 2007, Nicolas quickly became a favourite of Hernan Cattaneo where his original productions and private remixes become a staple in the sets of the storied DJ. Hailing from Buenos Aires, the Argentinean artist eventually found a home on Nick Warren’s The Soundgarden and Eelke Kleijn’s Days Like Nights where his groovy progressive sound has flourished. 2017 proved to be a breakout year, highlighted by his first remix collaboration with Nick Warren, where the duo reworked Upercent’s ‘Pulsacions’ to both critical and commercial success. Now frequent studio partners, Nicolas and Nick have continued to build a strong studio synergy showcasing their original material on Nick’s The Soundgarden imprint while also recording a string of impressive remixes for Get Physical, Monday Social Music, Proton Music and Timeless Moment. On the solo front, Nicolas has also continued to prosper with an appearance on Patrice Buamel’s GU Berlin compilation, along with original projects for Sudbeat Music and TRYBESof. Having first appeared on our free download series with his hugely sought-after remake of Bjork’s ‘Mutual Core’ in 2019 and then again in 2020 with an equally large rendition of Underworld’s ‘Cowgirl’, we’re happy to welcome Nicolas back with a huge interpretation of the Depeche Mode classic ‘Precious’. Initially remixed by progressive house icons Sasha and Spooky in 2005, Nicolas now brings a new perspective to the track which has been championed by John Digweed, Hernan Cattaneo and Nick Warren. Needing little introduction and simply known as the maestro, Hernan Cattaneo is one of the world’s most beloved DJs and his Sudbeat Music imprint is widely regarded as one of the best in its field. With a career that spans over three decades, Hernan Cattaneo has recorded eleven albums, thirty singles and fifty remixes, all while touring the world delighting passionate music lovers with his impeccable taste and exquisite programming skills.

Meanwhile, Australian artist Jamie Stevens has achieved an amazing level of critical and commercial success over the course of his three-decade long career. As one of his country’s most talented and sought-after artists, Jamie has proven his skill in professional sound design, film scores and contemporary electronic music. Prolific and consistent in equal measure, Jamie has enjoyed a creative swell in recent years, landing releases via Lee Burridge’s All Day I Dream, John Digweed’s Bedrock Records and Guy J’s Lost & Found.

The third member of the trio is American artist, DJ and promoter Anton Tumas. With a career that spans well over a decade, the Los Angeles resident has left an inevitable mark on the underground scene through his Subtract On The Pier residency and burgeoning Subtract Music imprint.

Last year the trio combined their extensive forces and took to reworking Pink Floyd's ‘Breathe (In the Air)’. Released in 1973 as part of the band’s iconic ‘The Darkside of the Moon’ album, the much lauded song remains as one of the group’s most revered and recognized creations. After several live airings by Hernan Cattaneo, perhaps most notably at BNP Open Life, the trio’s take on the iconic song has been shrouded in mystery, with fans hypothesizing who reworked the track in such grand fashion. Now, fifty years to the day after the original release of the song, we are pleased to offer Hernan Cattaneo, Jamie Stevens and Anton Tumas’ rendition as an exclusive free download. Enjoy.

Nils Koenig returns to Kittball Records with a bang. After hitting the KITTBALL KONSPIRACY VOL. 3 in 2011 with his chilled deep house wave „Tonight“, he finally rejoins the family with „HERE & NOW“.

Koenig teamed up with Knopfloch Kombinat to bring a true to style melodic deep house tune to the decks around the globe. Knopfloch Kombinat (Vatti Schindel & Shawn Elter) is a duo based in Soest (Germany) with a great history of releases on Hamburgs Moonboutique Records. All three are united by a lifelong love for the scene. 

The story of HERE & NOW begins at the start of this turbulent year. Backstage on a festival, Nils and Schindel found themselves philosophizing over melodies and harmonies. The stars aligned as they decided to take it to the studio where, two days later, HERE & NOW was born.

After a short hiatus Hungry Music returns with an array of new releases as well as remixes celebrating the second anniversary of Worakls' groundbreaking 2019 "Orchestra" album. First up Ben Bohmer makes his debut on Hungry Music with an outstanding remix of Worakls' "Red Dressed" composition, which features the mesmerising vocals of Eivor. "Red Dressed" first appeared on the Worakls "Orchestra" album. Ben's interpretation transformed the original composition into an exquisite, upbeat, dancefloor ready track with heavy sub-frequencies and bouncing drums. Added melodic layers add depth, while Eivor's breathtaking vocals are putting the gloss on top. Ben Bohmer premiered his remix during his "Cercle" live set above Cappadocia in Turkey, which has at the time of this writing more than three million views on YouTube. Ben's remix has since been one of the most searched for tracks of that performance. Hungry Music is extremely excited to release it to the world now.

If a new generation of self-identity artists is emerging within the electronic music scene, there is where we will certainly find the Argentinian Nicolás Rada, a DJ and producer who has created his own firmly-based path onwards success.

His early influences of Progressive Rock have led him to create a characteristic sound that his public appreciates and that makes you enjoy either on the dance floor or out of it. That sound is the one which conducted him to different labels such as The Soundgarden, Sudbeat, Balance, Get Physical, Chapter24, Sincopat, DAYS Like NIGHTS, Hoomidaas, Proton, among many others.

Since his very first steps in electronic music, up to date, Nicolás’ productions have received support from important referents as Nick Warren, Hernán Cattaneo, John Digweed, Danny Howells, Sander Kleinenberg, Guy Mantzur, Guy J, Patrice Baumel, Eelke Kleijn, Armen Miran and from many others. This guidance has given, and will surely give many opportunities to his carreer. Thus, the legendary Nick Warren proposed him to make some collaborations together and that is how not only their professional but also personal relationship began, releasing “Land of Dreams”, an EP edited by Nick’s label, The Soundgarden.

Warren’s musical knowledge challenged Nicolás with a new goal in a crucial moment of his carreer, to produce an album. And that’s the origin of “Resilience”. In addition to that, Patrice Baumel included Nicolás’ track “Cumulonimbus” in the prestigious album Global-Underground Berlin and Nick Warren added one of their productions to the mythological label Balance.

Since 2020 is on the roster of Analog Agency alongside some of most important Djs in the world. Nicolas’s brilliance has taken him on a global musical journey performing in a multitude of countries like Netherlands, Australia, Hungary, Spain, Scotland, Mexico, Colombia, Ecuator, Chile, Uruguay, Peru, Sri Lanka and many others.  In his own country, he has covered almost all Argentina, visiting the most important clubs. He has been supporting Djs around the globe like John Digweed, Hernan Cattaneo, Sasha, Nick Warren, Satoshi Tomii, Eelke Kleijn, Guy Mantzur, Patrice Baumel and others.

His talent and achievements and music have been featured in music publications such as DJ MAG, Electronic Groove, Decoded Magazine, Vicious Mag, Change-Underground, When We Dip, which are the leading print and online sources within the music industry.
Nicolas captivates audiences with his performances at the premier venues in Argentina and South America, solidifying his reputation as a highly sought-after artist within the electronic music scene.
