Hey…. Did this song go in so many directions until this final recording. It started as an electric slide song, then a mandolin song, and finally as an acoustic guitar/recorder song. You know I laugh every time I play recorder. Just imagine a rough and scrappy, wild old man creating such a thing. Hahahahaha. Anyway, there are a lot of crows here. When I was working on the slide version, I heard them cawing outside as they flew by. (I scrapped my impromptu birdcall crowing on this, no one needs to hear that, not even the crows.) Lyrically the song has 2 distinct moods with some vocal transitioning. And guess what folks: As a novice singer, I can finally vibrato my voice… some more shenanigans you’ll have to put up with. Back to the crows. In town, we have a huge flock (murder) of town crows. Hundreds. They sure love fast food, and hanging out by the high school where tasty, tossed tidbits can be had. They are organized too, as if in an air force, as they are mostly wary of us humans… Finally, happy holidays to all who celebrate, and happy times to everyone else. Hope you enjoy this one. Synesthesia is main motif for this song, first because of original lyrics, then as I felt like adding it more flavor with female vocals*, & finally when I recently watched some paintings about this matter**.

And so it rains… here, in the pile of moral and cultural rubble roughly where a place called England used to be.  Rain that is not acid, but acrid, coming, as it does, from the persistent shower of vile spittle emanating from the crooked mouths of the horde of liars, cheats, frauds and fornicators at Westminster.  Their policies as illegitimate as their credentials (and certain other aspects of their lives), these creatures shuffle about at the feet of their gay muslim billionaire benefactor / puppetmaster, shamelessly lapping up his tossed treats and trinkets in return for unfettered access to the heart of an executive whose mission is as fraudulent as its mandate: the eradication of the indigenous population, its culture and its history.  Their tools of the trade familiar to any rapacious despot of a failed state: fabricated manifestos; indoctrination to brainwash; history rewritten; injunctions to stem free speech; cancelled elections;  suppression of mainstream media through litigative threat;  transformation of the national broadcaster to the faithful puppy propaganda mouthpiece of the party machine; and hands-on directive control of judiciary and police functions to impose a vindictive and vicious two tier justice system within which peaceful protestors are handed brutal custodial sentences leading to a (no doubt welcome) uptick in prison suicides, as others, of a different ethnic background, violently assault a female police officer or stand on podiums with megaphones, exhorting the crowds before them to slash throats, and then walk free with police protection whilst the precious human rights of convicted terrorists are nurtured even as the mouths of their victims’ loved ones are sealed with gagging orders.  Oh, and should you wish, in this crumbling Year Zero aspirational autocracy, to publicly reject the learned principles underpinning any particular religious faith, then the aforementioned politically directed police will happily offer you a light for any holy text you wish to burn in order to make your point.  With one exception.  And it isn’t the bible....

I always wanted to make a sonic companion to the last song Bitzone, Frawstakwa, and I made together, “What Difference Does It Make.” I finally got my chance. This one came together real fast. Bitzone sent me a raw beat, I asked Frawstakwa to kick it off, and then I made some arrangement adjustments and laid down my lyrics and vocals based on Frawstakwa’s. Bitzone then finished it up and bada-boom, gotta move, gotta shake!

Massive thanks to Frawstakwa for bringing the fresh ideas and original verse and chorus vocals. And big thanks to Bitzone for always make the tracks more vivid than I could imagine.

I continue my musical experiments mixing styles. With this track , I tried to capture the spirit of post-punk rock but with an electro funk touch.
