quick note:

    this song is personal, obviously. i was in a relationship for a long time which wasn’t the best. at some point everyone around us realized we weren’t good for each other, and we weren’t ready to accept it. with a constant expectations for each other we hurt and hurt and hurt. it hurt more because at some point in the past we helped each other more than we damaged. we did everything someone in a relationship would do except we weren’t and we couldn’t. every month we came back to a renewed hope, a mindset in which we wouldn’t set expectations but we did. this was reassurance wrapped in despair, then it led to realizations.
