To celebrate 20 years of building Labyrinths, we have decided to release one set from each of the last ten years. I've chosen ten timeless moments that both document the history of the event and provide a historical snapshot of underground electronic music over the past ten years.

We have chosen a broad range--from closing techno sets, to morning ambient sets, to experimental sets to close the night. Each set represents a different side of the event. Taken together, they present a portrait of a decade of music.

テクノのクロージングセットから、朝のアンビエントセット、そして夜を締めくくるエクスペリメンタルセットまで幅広いセレクトですが、どのセットもThe Labyrinthの欠かせない側面を表しており、ここ10年におけるエレクトロニック ミュージックの全容とも言えるでしょう。

Chinese-German artist @samgoku has a distinctive take on techno that draws on his own Asian heritage and blends it with contemporary electronics. Across two sublime albums for Atomnation and Permanent Vacation, he has infused his fluid rhythms with gorgeous melodies and ambient haze, traditional Eastern instruments and ethereal moods. This summer, he debuted on the Dekmantel label with four tracks of unconventional techno that marry the physical with the emotional in exceptional style.

There are plenty of similar contrasts in this week's mix, which is an almost two-hour dive into his sound world. It is a deep and compelling blend of supple rhythms that are always subtly shifting. His pristine selections take in dubby and cavernous grooves, tripped-out minimal details and stylish techno cuts that always come with plenty of colour and high-definition designs which lend the whole thing a futurist edge but very human soul.

Alright alright, here we are with another installment of Live and Direct after a few months off. Our first recording for 2020 comes from a memorable night last November when our resident Aurora Halal invited Pessimist in to share the booth. 

Aurora provided the opening (and closing) moments, which is a side of the beloved techno we are really enjoying getting to know. Known for her meticulously programmed sets that build with both patience and intensity, this opening stays true to her hypnotic style. Taking us from cinematic dub techno to pitched up club favorites and back again, it's a subterranean and psychedelic ride leading us to the surface just before Pessimist's dnb stylings took over for the night.

Aurora is back in our booth on March 28 alongside Wata Igarashi, DJ Python, Juliana Huxtable and more for Nowadays Nonstop. Tickets for that are available on Resident Advisor now.
