Fedele’s Obscura Music continues to set a precedent for underground electronic music through a wave of carefully curated exploratory releases from hand-picked global talent alongside the Bari-based label boss himself. The latest shining example of Obscura’s ever-expanding avant-garde appeal is also the second chapter of Fedele’s ‘The Awake’ chronicle - following the well-received arrival of Pt. 1 in July 2022.
					
Spike Express’ opens ‘The Awake, Pt. 2’ with an expectedly potent and pumping Indie Dance thunderbolt from the label boss. Boasting pulsating grooves and a plethora of concrete analogue musicality from start to finish, it’s another head-turning frequency-rich stomper from Fedele that keeps you well within a firm grip for the entirety.

‘The Envelope’ matches the searing vibe with another remarkable club-focused cut from the Italian. Undulating drum work and fizzing hat sequences provide a blend of punch and swing whilst gritty lead melodies and atmospheric soundscapes bring the track’s ominously ear-catching persona to life.
		
On the flip, we welcome two remixers to the project to provide undeniably unique and blistering offerings. Electroclash’s founding father, French electronic icon The Hacker pairs with fellow Bari-native Golden Virgo.

My name is Julian Maramieri. Better known as Nostromo. I produce the genres: New Beat, Techno, EBM, Industrial and Minimal Electro. Between 2004 and 2007 I built my own recording studio called "Oalanka Studios". So a lot of projects were created with musician colleagues. You can hear me on my site 
under my stage name Nostromo and other projects.

By the way, before I forget. The music style “New Beat” that I produce was a created music style in Belgium from 1986 to 1992. 
Maybe my "New Beat" isn't the original from Belgium. But then I developed my own “New Beat” style. 

Nevertheless, thanks to all Belgian "New Beat" producers and the inventor of this brilliant genre. Marc Grouls, Olivier Abeloos, DJ Dikke Ronny and In-D. Unfortunately I wasn't able to get to know you personally. Have fun listening...

Electro energy..

Kyiv-based Mykhailo Iliushchenko, known to the entire Ukrainian underground under the aliases Luschn and IV Mickey, has been an integral part of the capital's electronic scene for more than a decade. This producer and selector started his career playing funk from seven-inch records in the cult Xlib many years ago. After that, he went on to play all the main venues all over Kyiv and the whole country - from the legendary Fazenda, the old Keller, Odesa's Agharti and Kharkiv's Zhyvot and Kultura Zvuka to a residency at the now-defunct River PORT and performances at Collider, Mezzanine, Otel' and Closer.

Nowadays, Luschn is a true universal soldier of the music world, confidently working on the fringe of many styles. He skilfully spins melodic laces of house and tech-house from different eras and countries, minimal, dub-techno, Detroit electro-funk and electro, nu-disco and a bunch of other styles for which music critics and journalists have not yet come up with definitions and frameworks. The most important thing is that Misha does all this for a noble purpose - to blow listeners' minds in a good way. And make their hearts and souls dance as if everything exists only here and now. After all, this is probably one of the main sacred tasks of music and creativity in general.

Undoubtedly, Luschn's multidisciplinarity also plays a serious role here. He is not just an ultra-technical DJ and digger. But also a talented producer with many years of experience. Resident of Mystictrax and Noneside labels, author of numerous diverse releases, and host and curator of a show on Gasoline Radio. This set of skills, plus his natural humour and charisma, turn Misha into a trickster, moving the dance floor in a completely unexpected direction (except for leaving the club) with just a few beats.

His sound is full of playful motifs intertwined with complex compositional canvases. It's also about depth, drama, multilayered senses, sounds, and harmonies. Everyone will find something there. And even if they lose it, the artist will always immediately put another record on the deck.
