This piano music piece is one of the older compositions I created. The melody reminds me of different seasons, weather, or anything that changes. It is relaxing, calming and gentle.

This song "the ballad of the fallen forests" (Die Ballade von den fallenden Wäldern) reflects the dying of the forests in the times of pandemic and war. We like to forget that we are in the middle of climate change. We race with fat SUVs over roads that are only made for cars and not for people. We waste resources instead of protecting them. Putin's war against Ukraine often obscures the fact that we are also in a climate crisis. Covid19 has long forced us into a pandemic. But what is happening to our forests? They are disappearing. In Germany, there are fewer and fewer forests, and if there are, they are plantations for the timber industry. Mismanagement, ignorance and greed for money have decimated our forests, which we as a people once loved so much. But who cares

Mood Exhibit - Indigenous

Asked to sing at the funeral of an old friend who had passed away unexpectedly and far too young the first and last lines of the song came to me as  I was deciding what to sing. The rest of the song then wrote itself. Originally performed with acoustic piano in a small chapel in rural Sweden I have added some orchestration for this recording.
