Oisin is a Dubliner DJ, now based in London, who plays a wide variety of styles which are showcased in the diversity of his shows on Alto Radio and Brixton Radio. From little-known UKG gems to dark 90s electro, Oisin’s mixes always pack a whammy.

Free Shelter invites the Dublin born, electronic music connoisseur @oisin-e34, for the 22nd installment of their guest mix series on IDA Radio.

Oisín is a Dublin raised, London based DJ & co-founder of Hypha. A new creative marketing and promo agency assisting independent, underground electronic artists and labels. Helping with sorting our all those promo mails that get lost in the mix, and really focuses on sorting through what works individually for their clients. 

Groomed by the underground scene of Dublin, his knowledge in the landscape of electronic music, no matter the genre, is one we should all strive for. This almost historian approach to the scene is what separates him from the rest. 

His mix traverses a number of different styles including 00's minimal, dub techno, Detroit electro, breakbeat & some of the finest deep house to ever come out of Ireland. Take a bow

Paving his way in the Dublin scene, Oisin has previously hosted a regular show on Dublin Digital Radio - spotlight some of his favourite labels - and has been booked for parties such as Bodytonic and at The Bernard Shaw. Now based in London, Oisin selections span across the board taking inspiration from early Chicago house records and post punk / new wave alike. 

Talking about the podcast, Oisin says, 'haven’t put together a mix in time so really had a good think of what I wanted to do. I’ve always been an early Chicago house head, labels like TRAX & DJ International Records are what initially got me into electronic music. Similarly I’m a lover of plenty of synth driven genres such as Post Punk, Italo & New Wave - suppose from there I kinda landed on a New Beat mix, it really blends all these genres with a kinda dark, punky edge with fucking loads of attitude. Hope you enjoy as much as I did mixing it!'

Friend and talented deejay Oisin turned in a fantastic house set all the way from his isolation station in London. The mix harkens back to the days of diva vocalists and reverberating chords and perfectly fits the original definition of "Deep House".

Stepping up to the floor for DRIFT 021 we have Dublin-born, London-based DJ, Oisin. He actually contacted the series with an idea for a mix and I'm delighted to finally be putting it out. After listening back to some of the other mixes he'd put together, I was imediately impressed by the conistency in track selection and his ability to create and develop a unique sound. Whether blending classic disco records or cutting edge high-bpm electro, he is always on point and DRIFT 021 is no exception!

Oisin likes to have fun behind the decks rather than meticulously planning the entire set, an adhoc approach which allows him to cultivate an impressive flow over the duration. For this mix, he hit the record button and played whatever he was feeling and in this case something truly clicked. This led to a wonderfully eclectic mixture of funky new beat, italo, balearic and much more.
