"Cybernetic Melancholia - 電脳メランコリア" is the fifth album by OKURUTO, an experimental Japanese electronic artist known for blending J-pop, chiptune, vaporwave, anime aesthetics, lo-fi, and retrowave into immersive soundscapes.

This concept album tells the tragic yet beautiful story of Shizuka, a sentient android who awakens to self-awareness, only to realize that she is an anomaly—a ghost in the machine. Hunted by the system, she must erase her most cherished memories, escape relentless cybernetic enforcers, and ultimately face oblivion. Each track unfolds like an anime episode, taking listeners on a journey through bittersweet nostalgia, high-energy digital chaos, and haunting electronic dreamscapes.

Through glitchy synth textures, distorted vocal fragments, melancholic melodies, and cinematic 80s-inspired arpeggios, "Cybernetic Melancholia" captures the fleeting beauty of a digital soul on the verge of deletion. I thought it might be the right time of year for those of us in the northern latitudes to get a blast of sun, beach and sea! It took quite some time to get the summer sound and feel I wanted but I hope I’ve succeeded. I’m sure you’ll let me know in the comments if I did ( or didn’t ). Time to put on the sunglasses and stretch out on that beach towel as you take a trip to Coconut Beach!

Approaching Mars

The main melody of this song is based on the very first song I've ever written (at 16).   In recent years I added a bridge, re-arranged the whole piece and totally replaced the lyrics.  The vocals here were just recorded few months ago.  Just hope this would come afresh.
