Oh this makes me so sad thinking of MacGowan's passing, Oli...one of my treasured writers. This is my favourite secular Christmas song. Thank you for this sweet cover. Have you seen the Pogues' 30th Anniversary reunion concert - watched it many times. All the best to you for 2024.

R.I.P. Shane MacGowan  (1957 dec 25th - † nov. 30th 2023)

I recorded this song 2 days ago. I had no idea that the news of his passing would reach me today.

For me it was my first recording after a long cold when i finally had my voice back again. I had always wanted to record this Christmas song and my voice just seemed perfect for it.

Now it has become a sad reminder of the life of a great artist whom I liked very much as a child.

I am very grateful that I took the recording before the sad news. So it remains a tribute to his life and not to his death.
