One of the things that we love the most from the beloved berliner underground is the huge quantity of unknown/underrated djs that scene provides. The ones we decided to move here we always get surprised about dj's that one can see at the most filthy and infamous venues, being not strcktly necessary to go to Panorama Bar to see a nice set.

We introduce you this month to EXOTIKA, good friend and great selector. Joan Bernat the guy behind the name, is one of those obsessed diggers that are always in the search of the perfect beat and the warmest vibe. Balearic, downtempo, protohouse and everything in between is the leitmotif of the catalonian dj.

Member of the amazing collective "Ceremony", one of the hottest underground parties in Berlin, along with Nirel Nica, Llupe and Rafa (who already signed an MM Cast last year)

As anyone who's been to a Nordic country in the summer will tell you, there's a certain magic in the temperate air that you only get from a place that is cold and dark for most of the rest of the year. That probably goes some way towards explaining how a country like Sweden produces some of the sunniest music around, whether we're talking about pop or underground dance. Since she debuted on Stockholm label Studio Barnhus in 2018, Bella Boo has been at the forefront of this sound, making clever, fun and joyous house music on records like Once Upon A Passion, where pop instincts embed into deep house grooves.

Bella Boo's RA Podcast both highlights her distinct personality and also the sound of Stockholm in full summer bloom, featuring local producers like Kornél Kovács, Axel Boman, Genius Of Time and Samo DJ. It's full of catchy basslines, hooky vocal snippets, luxurious melodies and plenty of brilliant transitions. It's kind of like listening to one of her records: a restless and kaleidoscopic approach to house, where the rhythms shift and a new earworm is always around the corner. Bella Boo has all the makings of a star, and this mix feels like another step in her impressive rise.

Mix of the Week #443: Dawn to Dawn - The Voice of Twilight

This set was recorded in the National Park of Circeo on the 24.8.22 a few meters away from the Tyrrhenian Sea. There were 60 people audience lying on the sand, a few candles and a 4+1 Turbosound system.
I played my own productions including a few unreleased tunes.
Thanks to "Le Passeggiate Poetiche" and Exotique.it for making this possible.

Greece DJ Snatch & Blacksoul joined forces to create Those Guys From Athens based on their mutual love for Boogie sounds. Expect dancefloor fillers and soulful sounds around from the globe.

Their smooth slow disco sound has reached the attention of DJ Supermarkt very quickly. They were part of a lot of YACHT DISCO EDIT compilations so far.

The duo already released music for Midnight Riot, Too Slow Too Disco, Act Of Sedition, Bonfido Disques, Spincat Music, Little Jack, a.m.m.

In between they have released a 2 track EP with Dim Zach and an official remix for Swiss talent Animor.

RADIO.D59B / PONOCNI PROGRAM #43 w/ DJ Brka

The call of duty or is it a double date? Either way, this show, also known as Arco Spettro, is a pre-recording made many moons ago for Arpa, my dear friend Barnabe Fillon’s perfume brand. B kindly asked me to record a series of mixes representing each scent from its first sequence. One of the main inspirations for his collection was the documentary Sisters with Transistors, which focuses on female electronic music pioneers. Bearing this in mind, it seemed like a good idea to feature only female composers in these recordings. Memum is the solo project of Berlin-based musician and producer David Georgos. Focusing on natural and organic sounds—such as piano, guitar, rhodes, glocks, voices, and field recordings—Georgos transforms and manipulates these elements to create Memum’s distinctive sound. The result is a fusion of ambient electronic textures and experimental pop songwriting.

His critically acclaimed album, “Became a Leaf,” was released on the boutique German label Unperceived Records. Drawing inspiration from his first years in Berlin and a trip to Finland, this album showcases Georgos’ refined approach to sound design, blending field recordings, time-stretched synth layers, and piano to craft compositions that explore themes of birth and decay. The album received early support from platforms like Ambient and artists such as Odesza, as well as a feature on a Café del Mar compilation.

Prior to Memum, Georgos worked under the moniker Locoto. As Locoto, he created remixes for artists such as Boozoo Bajou (K7!, R&S Records) and released his first solo album, “Awakine,” through Modernsoul/Universal Music Publishing.
