Last but not least, he just started a brand new label called Unrelatable, reviving that Finalfrontier spirit of the early days of his musical life.

For the 3rd edition of our DECENNIUM series we bring you 20/20 Vision Recordings founder @ralphlawson. After forming a partnership with Ralph and 20/20 Vision earlier this year on his London string of events, celebrating the launch of the new 20/20 subsidiary label Exit Planet Earth, it was an absolute must to bring Ralph into our series to record this mind-blowing set, which recently featured on his Exit Planet Earth show on OpenLab Radio. Regardless of this affiliation, it is an honour to have such a respected legend of the UK scene feature on our series. 

Alongside 20/20 Vision Ralph was a co-founding resident DJ at the legendary back to basics club in Leeds, where he played the very first record in November 1991. Lawson has helped the club win 5 major industry awards so far (DMC, Muzik, DJ Magazine) for Best Club and been personally nominated for Best Breakthrough, Best DJ and Lifetime contribution by DJ Magazine. Ralph’s reputation spread from his Basics residency with guest appearances at the legendary Hacienda, Sub Club, Flying, Full Circle, Venus and Shindig as well as early excursions around Europe. Ralph become one of the first UK DJs with a residency in Barcelona at The Moog club and began playing in Ibiza at Ku, Space and Amnesia from the mid nineties. Touring started to extend across the world into Australia, Argentina and Japan. The USA became a firm favourite with shows at Red Dog and Smart Bar in Chicago, The End Up in San Francisco and The Sound Factory Bar, Limelight, Tunnel, Cielo and Studio B in New York. In NYC Lawson was invited to open for Danny Tenaglia at his ‘Be Yourself’ parties and even ended up producing music for the ‘De La Guarda’ show on Broadway.

Lawson founded 20/20 Vision Recordings in 1994, which has gone on to become a highly influential and pioneering record label. The record label roster includes a wealth of international artists including; 214, Versalife, Reedale Rise, Carl Finlow, Cignol, James Shinra, Kosh, as well as Ralph himself and recently our resident Annie Hall. It's reputation for the highest quality releases has spread all over the World.

Ralph's new subproject 'Exit Planet Earth', celebrates 20 years of 20/20 Vision Recordings and seeks to push the boundaries and experiment with unique artist pairings and live shows, with artists such as The Hacker, Jensen Interceptor, Keith Tucker, Derek Carr, Voigtmann, etc. featuring on it's lineups and releases.

With this mix, I set out to make it about Acid, of course, but with my twist. I did play a lot of the 303 lines because well, I love em. But more than that I wanted to harness the energy of what Acid House was when it was first introduced to the world.… spunky, fun, euphoric, psychedelic, and with lots of attitude...This mix symbolizes this for me and represents my own personal journey through different era's as a DJ... Some of these records have been in my collection for more than two decades, while others came to me just a few days before recording. 

This mix is dedicated to my brother in beats, Marc Bartissol, aka Dull, and to the best dude ever, Chris Cavilear. Both of whom were unexpectedly taken from me last year...
