Bellissimo ed interessante evoluzione molto più "drone" rispetto a produzioni precedenti di Orghanon. Spero sia un estratto di una nuova uscita discografica. Sergio Calzoni è sempre una garanzia.

Taken from Olga Wojciechowska's release on ASIP titled 'Infinite Distances', released November 4th 2019. 

Initially put together in memory of a family member, Olga Wojciechowska’s new album, 'Infinite Distances' is built around a similar-sounding melody that appears across the backbone of the album - the sign of something that won’t let go. Opening with ‘Images Imprisoned Within You’, the beautiful orchestral piece sets the tone for a potentially optimistic journey. But the album, with its changes in direction and varying emotion portrayed throughout the seven tracks, somehow always ends up at the same place. It was a memory Olga couldn’t shake. 

Told through several different approaches, varying from expansive modern-classical pieces, to more experimental and electronic touches in tracks like ‘Memory Of The Pioneers’ and ’Starless Water’; ‘Infinite Distances’ is a personal recollection that spans the emotions surrounding the feelings of loss; the highs, the lows, the polaroid-like happy memories, the ones that you never want to let go, and those that will never quite fade away. 

In contrast to the inspiration behind the album, the artwork from Marco Vannini brings a vivid and subjective aspect to the release, whilst maintaining the idea of fragmented and juxtaposing memories together in one place. 

As a true multi-instrumentalist, Olga has produced as Strië, for Serein with ‘Perpetual Journey’ (2018) and previously as her true name Olga Wojciechowska for the likes of Time Released Sound. Olga has also produced alongside Erik Skodvin on Sonic Pieces, collaborated with Greg Haines and reworked Nathan Fake on Ninja Tune. Olga can also be heard in the more contemporary space with commissions by Oslo Opera House and the Royal Opera House.

Tomas Jirku - Touching The Sublime [SSV18]

Tomas Jirku began his career in the golden era of minimal and glitch techno, helping to define the genres through releases on Alien8, Force Inc., Klang Elektronik, and Traum. Over the past two decades, Jirku has built a strong repertoire with his exploratory approach to music, experimenting across genres to develop a sound he can call his own.

“Touching the Sublime” is the culmination of this work, with material transformed through performance, experience and introspection. Inspired by his explorations of the remote wilderness that surrounds his home in Vancouver, Canada, Jirku evokes the philosophical concept of the sublime, where an overwhelming experience of awe confronts us with the limits of our rational minds. The album is a synesthetic auditory expression of Romantic era prose and stories of early alpinism. Bringing epic orchestral compositions and intimate guitar passages together with Jirku’s unique sense of space and texture, “Touching the Sublime” draws from his most important collaborators and influences to create a uniquely personal result. 

The album is accompanied by a limited edition photo book, where, as an accomplished photographer, Jirku has captured the landscapes and vistas that have been his inspiration.

Tomas Jirku ~ The Iliad & The Odyssey [SSV18]

Orghanon is the solo venture of Sergio Calzoni, producer and musician active since the nineties in various musical outfits (Act Noir, Colloquio, ILUITEQ).

In 2015 the debut album "Figures In Slow Motion" was released by Eibon Records. This work, thoroughly mastered by the legendary Mike Marsh at the Exchange Studios, seamlessly fuses trip-hop sonorities with jazz, ambient and glitch elements.

In 2016 Orghanon composed the soundtrack for the theatre performance "F_rankenstein", a revamped version of the Frankenstein myth produced by the acting company Officina Teatrale A_ctuar.
 
In 2017 the sophomore album "Retrospectre" was released by the American cult-boutique label Time Released Sound. The album is a very personal exploration of childhood memories relived as ambient music soundscapes.

After a five years hiatus, in 2022 the album "Droneworks I-V" came to light, with the support of Italian label St.An.Da.

In 2024 the album "Future In Motion" is released by the eclectic label Mahorka. This album reconnects with the multifaceted sound that distinguished the debut album of Orghanon, in which the concept of motion becomes more dynamic and accelerated, compared to the static nature and slow movements of the debut record.
With this new album, Orghanon pays homage to the electronic music culture that arose at the beginning of the new millennium, with computer-based recording software becoming more and more affordable for aspiring bedroom producers. "Future In Motion" is permeated by this retro-futuristic vibe, making extensive use of software music tools for sound manipulation and the creation of glitchy soundscapes.
