Guitarist who began playing improvised music in his teens in the UK free improvisation arena and developed his sound in the downtown music scenes of New York and Washington D.C. in the early 1980’s, working with Elliott Sharp, Bobby Previte and Tiny Desk Concert creator Bob Boilen amongst others.  He formed the Heat Poets in partnership with the open field poet Chris Torrance in Wales in 1985.  Vine was guitarist with Ted Milton’s cult group Blurt throughout the 1990s and worked as composer and sound designer for Welsh dance and theatre companies such as Earthfall, Teatr Genedlaethol Cymru and the Centre for Performance Research. He has been based in Brazil since 2000 working with dance, theatre and film companies, including Verve Cia de Dança and Union Filmes. He formed the post-improvisation duo Barsa and Briggy with Brazilian percussionist Wesley Ribeiro in 2010 and is currently a member of the Ethernet Orchestra, a global group of improvisers who perform in real time online, with members in Australia, Brazil, Germany, Canada, Iran, Norway, the UK and China playing both traditional acoustic and modern electronic instruments.

Mission
Other Minds, a private not-for-profit 501(c)(3) organization based in San Francisco, is dedicated to the encouragement and propagation of contemporary music in all its forms. Projects include the annual Other Minds Music Festival, Other Minds Records, Other Minds New Music Séance Concerts, “Music From Other Minds” on KALW 91.7-FM, and the History of New Music Preservation Project, making content from the Other Minds Archive available for free on the web at radiOM.org.

The Contemporary Music Centre is Ireland's national archive and resource centre for new music, supporting the work of composers throughout the Republic and Northern Ireland.

The Centre is used, nationally and internationally, by performers, composers, promoters and members of the public interested in finding out more about music in Ireland. Its library and sound archive, open to the public free of charge, contain the only comprehensive collection in existence of music by Irish composers. Extensive reference and advice services are available and the Centre's web site provides access to CMC's resources for those who cannot visit in person.

The Contemporary Music Centre engages in an ongoing programme of development work to promote new Irish music at home and abroad, and is a member of the International Association of Music Information Centres (IAMIC).
