Aim Hreem Kleem

Another live sesson expanded with a Moog Slim Phatty from now on.  The pads and pluck noises are still coming from the old Nord Rack 2. I desperately love this old red lady.

Anyway, no multitracking, no overdubs. The Moog and Nord flows into the DAW through a Focusrite Pro 40. Its still noisy a bit, but as I mentioned before, I really love how it sounds! Hope you do too! ;)

Project DiSTRiCT 21 - Live session II.

Hey, it was a hard one, but I enjoyed it a lot. For the drumline I used the Korg MS20 samples from my previous live session. This time I used the Slim Phatty with instant program changes through the recording session which was quite a pain in the arse.

I made the record without multitracking and overdubs and as you may already know, without quantizations. The Moog, the MS20 and the Nord flow into the DAW through a Focusrite Pro 40. The drumline and the bassline is sequenced from the DAW, cause I have only two hands. :)

Gears used (without being exhaustive):
- Leads, pads and the solo at he beginning: Nord Rack 2
- Main bassline, and deep bass sweeps: Moog SP
- Drumline: Korg MS-20 (kick / snare / hihats - own patches)

I started learning to play the oud in 1997. At the beginning I learnt arabic songs and ottoman classical music, then also Turkish folk music and sufi music.

I was always planning to compose a fusion of western and eastern music in order to bring these two musical worlds closer to each other. The Oudviber project is the latest product of this endeavour being the fusion of ambient, electronic, ottoman classical music and middle eastern harmonies.

Its genre can be perhaps best described by the term "electrosufi", I hope many people will like it. The project has two version: 
 - an epic one with sounds of film scores, with more acoustic instruments
 - and an electric one where the synths dominate.

At the moment I compose and play this music by myself but I also plan to create a band and a live version of it later on.
