After everything had quietly sifted through my head a great peace came over me. Here, where the river gently winds through the girdle of hills, lies a soil so saturated with the past that however far back the mind roams one can never detach it from its human background. So quietly flow the Seine that one hardly notices its presence. It is always there, quiet and unobtrusive, like a great artery running through the human body. In the wonderful peace that fell over me it seemed as if I had climbed to the top of a high mountain; for a little while I would be able to look around me, to take in the meaning of the landscape. Human beings make a strange fauna and flora. From a distance they appear negligible; close up they are apt to appear ugly and malicious. More than anything they need to be surrounded with sufficient space – space even more than time. The sun is setting. I feel this river flowing through meets past, its ancient soil, the changing climate. The hills gently girdle it about: its course is fixed. Desert Raven brings the Tree Of Life to people. This is his first offering for Shango Records. These two tracks can give a warm beauty inside your cold heart. Ali Termos and Bliz Nochi are bringing beauty and knowledge with their own hands.

This is a collaboration that has been coming for a long time, and finally it is here.

It is about a tribe of people forgotten by time, who dwell in an uncharted forest on the side of a remote mountain. They are discovered by a young couple on a hiking trip. The couple are enchanted and in awe of the simplicity and beauty of these tribal folk. The couple decide to leave, as much as they want to stay, but, later one day, are drawn back by the powerful force of life in the people of the forest, on the mountain they call Zelidan. They convince their family to go with them, as the world has grown poisoned by hate and division and war and lies. They know that ultimately, their is no perfect place on Earth, but they also know that there is a better way. So the story begins...

Mictlán es el inframundo y parte del universo vertical, creado por la pareja de dioses soberanos de los muertos. Sus nueve niveles representan el viaje del Dios Tonatiuh todas las noches en las fauces de los señores de la Tierra. 

Tepeme Monamictlán es el segundo de los nueve niveles y residencia de Tepeyóllotl (dios de las montañas, los ecos y el jaguar). Esta es la región donde dos montañas chocan, produciendo ecos como señal a los muertos para cruzar al siguiente nivel.

Mictlán is a conceptual album through genres and interpretations of 18 artists about the underworld according to the mythology and pre-Hispanic worldview of the Aztecs.

Mictlán is the underworld and part of the vertical universe, created by the pair of sovereign gods of the dead. Its nine levels represent the journey of a god every night in the fauces of the lords of the Earth.

Tepeme Monamictlán is the second of the nine levels and residence of Tepeyóllotl (god of mountains, echoes and jaguar). This is the region where two mountains collide, producing echoes as a signal to the dead to cross to the next level.

It was an honour to be able to play this set at one of the best parties in Berlin, the beautiful BeHome, in the wonderful Beate Uwe. This set is darker than my traditional sets, especially made for dancing late at night under the charm of Imbolc.  Imbolc is a time of celebration and ritual, often honoring Brighid, the goddess of the hearth. This is also a time of new beginnings and of purification. It is the time when we begin to bid farewell to winter to make way for spring. It is a dark time, but one where joy and light abound within the darkness. Thanks to everyone who accompanied this set with immense energy, it was magical to conduct that beautiful orchestra of dancing souls. Love always ;)
