As resident of the revered Taiwanese platform @smokemachinetaipei, @diskonnected is both a tastemaker and selector of wide esteem.
Having been an integral member of the Smoke Machine crew for over a decade, his vision has shaped both the style and presence of the platform, culminating in a range of cutting edge, high-profile events in Taiwan and around the globe, and the irreplaceable Smoke Machine Podcast, which has comfortably been one of the most respected and insightful sources of truth within the wider techno scene since its inception ten years ago.

On a personal level, diskonnected’s wide-ranging and intricately selected sounds are a true local fixture in Taiwan, but his natural prowess and flair as a DJ has seen him reach crowds the world over, with appearances at a multitude of key events in Germany, the UK, Holland, South Korea, Japan, the US and more recently in Streamland, to name but a few. 

Recorded live at a recent event at Pawnshop in Taipei, Patterns of Perception 83 finds diskonnected in an energetic mood, as he takes a vivid, groove-laden dive into the world of contemporary drum & bass. 
In this set, an impeccable array of textures flow effortlessly alongside powerful, irrepressible rhythms to exhilarating effect. Feeling simultaneously invigorating and nostalgic, these 81 mins perfectly capture the colour, vibrancy and spirit of a proper club night in full swing.

The third offering in our mix series is a live recording of Priori and Cousin's dj set at Sustain Release 2024. Recorded on the last morning between 6am and 1pm on what was meant to be an ambient stage, it featured everything a 3 day festival closing set should. Eclectic picks, strange and emotional sounds, dubious transitions and a few feigned endings. Massive thanks to all the dancers, the Sustain staff (Aurora, Ash and everybody else who put their blood, sweat and tears into this), the music makers, the birds, the stars.

To celebrate 6 years of Passing Notes and International Women’s Day just passed, I enlisted the help of Berlin-based Syrian DJ, curator and goddess Zeynep. Zeynep’s voice is no stranger to Passing Notes, she joined me live in the studio with the Harmony Rec crew for episode 256 back in February 2024. Today, she returns in sonic form from afar, to showcase her fervent musical voice.

A dynamic selector who strikes a captivating balance between smooth lusciousness and unruly bodaciousness, Zeynep’s performances are impassioned trips through deeply dug mesmeric trance, seductive prog, and ecstasy-inducing rare gems - an intoxicating signature that has earned her a residency at Prague’s Harmony Rec. Her sound fosters an undeniable connection to the primal, collective joy of the rave, igniting spaces with a femme-forward intensity that resonates with those who crave liberation, pleasure, and transcendence.

Beyond the decks, Zeynep is also a passionate curator and community builder, committed to shaping electronic music culture in meaningful ways. Her deep involvement with Harmony Rec. reflects her dedication to fostering heartfelt connections within the underground music scene, ensuring that the spaces she plays in aren’t just dancefloors but homes for those who find freedom in the music.
