I Got That Bad Weather Funk

Due to the dry weather this year fireworks were banned when the 4th of July came around. So, I wrote this song instead. David Skoglund provided some really nice guitar tracks for the final mix.

So this is probably one of the more randomly put together tracks I’ve done recently.  It all started by experimenting with patterns and effects in DM1 and playing over the resulting groove separately in Magellan and SampleTank (which is actually useful as an iOS app now that it has ACP).  Some sections were driven by the Magellan jamming and some by the SampleTank jamming.  In the end, I think everything somehow managed to tie together.

iPad apps used: DM1, Magellan, SampleTank, Animoog, Sunrizer, Alchemy and the venerable NanoStudio (were all parts were mixed and either assembled or recorded).

Below is a collection of music I’ve written and recorded since the iPhone / iPad became a viable platform for playing and recording music.  Nearly everything here was written and recorded in NanoStudio or NanoStudio 2 with dozens of supporting iOS apps.  As such, these tracks are quirky electronic creations with strong pop and symphonic elements, often peppered with bluesy riffs or solos.
