This was too silly to save for Spooky Week and too adorable not to share.  

In this Icarus endangering Interbay track, a blending of a couple of pop cultural touchstones results in...well...Interbay (as ever.)  

Some drum machine drums that take me back to 1989, some impossibly thick analog synth sounds, and a few pop touches are all in service of telling the story of when some monsters all came to the city to hang out, and run afoul of the frightened people who live there.  

There is unexpected menace in things that have always been magically innocent and kid-friendly (but not in a Five Nights at Freddy's way.)  It is the idea that humans and monsters have no reason not to get along, except that fear gets in the way of understanding...and that when you've convinced yourself about something, it can be hard to keep lines of communication open to better understand others' perspectives.  

Or maybe it's not that deep.  Maybe it's just a silly song where the laughs come from the juxtaposition of unexpected elements.  (...and pray that Icarus survives.)
