(Nope.  This isn't it either.  Do you really think that I'd write a song about sex and title it "Hacksaw"?)  

A disclaimer first--I know that the thumbnail image shows a woman holding a sword in her right hand--but I'm going to say that in her left hand is a hacksaw.  I hope you believe me.  

Well, this feels like an Interbay song from last year--there used to be a lot more "epic" length Interbay tracks back then.  Lately, I've been pretty good about keeping my tendency to overindulge at bay, to come up with some tracks that feel like they could be played on the radio.

...this isn't one of those.  This is an extended clubmix, it takes its sweet time, building layer upon layer of synth-lead funky disco tech house.  

And this all came together today.  That's right, whatever this track is...it was built starting when I got home from dropping my kid off at school, and I'm posting it a half hour before they're released from school.  

Sometimes the Tetris pieces fall perfectly into place.  I like when that happens.

What is this song trying to say?  Well, at its most basic level, this is very Interbay, as I get such a kick out of crafting dance songs about topics that are not typical for dance songs--almost, the better the song is to dance to, the stranger the narrative theme I craft for it.  

And the narrative theme for this track is that of someone who feels like a currently-in-progress end of a relationship is figuratively like his soon-to-be ex is literally sawing him into pieces.  (And this is his last resort?)  

She's taken the best parts of him and left the rest to rot.  (I'm not actually a horror/slasher film fan, but I know how to take an idiom to the extremes for impact.)  

"I'm a sawed off shotgun made of leftover meat" isn't the same as "shake shake shake, shake shake shake, shake your booty, shake your booty", I KNOW.  But my history in songwriting has always been for danceable post-punk songs that savor the darker flavors...and this is what you get.
