Captured in the afternoon May 11 using a VLF reciever built on the McGreevey schematic. Spherics, whistlers, lightening crackles, other mysterious ufo sweeps and swerves. 
Just a small except three hours of very active sky listening.

The Marais Du Verdier is a rich marshland made up of four former fishponds totalling 120 hectares, with a variety of habitats (reedbeds, bulrushes, salt meadows, ponds, tamarisk groves). This recording captures the intense amphibian chorus after dusk, with many Stripeless Tree Frogs (hyla meridionalis) vocalising.

This may be the final or phoenix edition of the Rifles & Garbage Podcast as I seek social medial detox and the travelling cures for the next 2 months. "On Fire" includes poems by Charles Whittaker, Tony Brewer, George Christian, Palestinian poet Hiba Abunnada and a special forest fire narration & field recordings by Phil Mill. Poems and various vocal assertions about language and life forms on the brink of extinction by myself as well as the weaving field recordings and sonic textures by yours truly. And special thanks to Tony Brewer for the extended field recording of the cicada double brood from Belle, MIssouri (USA) which allowed me to breath more deeply and orchestrate this virtual commingly of spaces, places and voices. Rifles & Garbage Podcast "On Fire" #6

This time accompaniment with prepared zither (paper clips, gliss rods, chopsticks, a Hans Reichel style self-made whammy slide, ebow)  "Sortie" in French: output, exit, outlet, release, outflow, outing. "Sept" because it's September and the Latin root word for seven because there will be seven pieces upon completion of the cycle. I wanted, still want to, maybe call it "Sept Saties", owing to the fact I was thinking whimsically of the composer, Erik Satie, these first days of Autumn, with the chestnuts and leaves beginning to detach. All these pieces will use the same sound stem composed of field recordings made over the Summer (including hydrophones and VLF) from Czech Republic, Hungary and Romania. Number 5.

Sept(ember) Sorties #5

A herd of red cows approaching us from front and passing by on a warm September noon of 2019 at the hills of Southern Urals. Lots of energetic mooing, shepherd shouts and whistles, some birds chirping and moderate wind. I love this recording for its brutal and raw energy.

My work with radio as a decided sound source goes back to 1991. Those who'd like to trace my backstory are kindly invited to visit my blog. transparent-abelard.blogspot.com/2023/01/…eff.html  Radio Art is still not very systematically assesed (thank the gods). Some think they are "radio art" because they work now or once worked at a radio station or program. Radio Art involves both all that and anything and all things alien and other which gets into the stream of what we are calling radiomagnetic spectrum waves. My practice in this field is both scientific and experimental in terms of the sound released. I use several radios and resampling devices out in the open field in the open air. I study atmospheric conditions and monitor space weather. I don't have many friends who can follow what I'm talking about and this fact often makes me gaslight my very own self at times. Be that as it once have maybe been, I feel, through, after, many years of meditatiion in this field that radiosferism is alterity orientation (relatedness to the other) and that it's non-dualist apperceptions concieve the ordinal within irregularities. Radio art in my practice has the task to create a consciousness manifold able to receive many messages simulataneously, akin to a mycelium. There is no soloist in the radio context. Even if I work most often alone.
