"The instrumental for "A Heat That Melts The Thoughts In Your Head" was in parts for such a long time. I love constructing certain guidelines and rules with songs, and this I wanted to be a really tight call-and-response structure within all the melodies throughout. A lot of the drums were entire loops of live drums I was reshuffling about. The title of the track, much like a lot of my songs is a quote from a certain American author. But that is a secret who exactly..

After my single on Activia Benz came out, me and Ducky got chatting online and we started collaborating on a load of different work. I designed the artwork for her releases with B.YRSLF and Nest HQ, and more recently a compilation with US based art collective Net Elite. She's really inspiring and super productive. I genuinely love her productions and releases so it's easy to create something based on the audio. She shot this vocal for "A Heat...." over a half-finished beat almost immediately, and I agonised over how to finish the track around it. The lyrics work perfectly with the concept of the EP, the whole song sounds like friction in a relationship slowly building. Itchy synths and skittering hihats with a bittersweet performance from Ducky.

The track's artwork is one of seven images I produced as a personification for each track that follows my design and artistic style pretty closely, but realised in photographic form."
