A destitute wasteland, a world dying, a world without hope . a world without Disco. Enter the sonic wizard Skryre (Dermott McFergus / Australia). Awakening from a deep meditation spent perfecting his understanding of deep rhythms and cosmic grooves all to hone his brand of sonic magic - the time has come for him to end the 'Discopalypse'. 

Phonix Records is proud to present Skryre's epic EP! The odyssey starts with the title track - 'Discopalypse' - an epic tale of deep groove and precise sonic distortions that culminates in exploding melodies - disco music like you have never heard before. So powerful is the story that we find ourselves stumbling into the second track - 'Reality Unwoven'. Energy resonating from the start of our journey, this story moves forward with a sense of mechanical chaos which is held together with the sheer will of our beloved wizard. Skryre musters all his power to take the mayhem and bend it to his will, piecing together reality with groove and melodies from another dimension. As things stabilize - we enter the final phase of the release. Skryre now draws on inspiration from the work of another sonic entity - the mysterious coRupt (André Rossouw / South Africa). Skryre puts an end to the 'Strange Fiction' he has born into the world - recasting the spell of coRupt but with his own special incantations. What we are left with is a fine tuned monster remix - retaining all the best elements of the original, with a healthy dose of groove, glitch and above all - disco. 

Special thanks to the legendary sHiFt (Chris Hoy/Australia) for his unrelenting patience in helping master this release to perfection, and the lovely Alice Donnelly for the beautiful cover.

In 2010, Paulo Etnarama was inspired to support fresh up and coming acts specializing in twilight psytrance, and thus Phonix Records was born in London. Later that year he found his partner in crime –  Ishikawa, a fellow traveler in the cosmos who shared the same vision. Together they worked tirelessly with the aim of providing sonic scientists and wizards the means to be heard by audiences galaxy wide.

Fast-forward 3 years, Etnarama is on a sabbatical to take care of his family and Ishikawa manages the label with the help of fellow psychonaut Gayle Adams – who brings with her a keen ear, the infamous South African passion for hard core twilight psytrance and a no non-sense attitude to getting things done! And so,  Phonix Records has now branched from its home in the UK with representation across USA, Portugal, and South Africa. Over the past 3 years they have unleashed onto this world – 7 fresh releases featuring all the flavors of the twilight spectrum. Today they proudly support an ever-growing roster of artists and beat hackers from across the globe including Serbia, South Africa, Mexico, Portugal and Canada.

Focusing completely on the music for the twilight hours, Phonix Records has constantly been pushing themselves to help cultivate a new breed of Artists and DJs, and release nothing but the very best in super powered, hyper charged, 100% unadulterated twilight psytrance!
