Phonix Records is back with its 5th release of the year! This time label manager Ishikawa puts together our first compilation for 2025. Over a year in the making, this release focuses on expanding the labels' sound palette. After a deep meditation on what twilight psytrance stands for today, the vision of 'Twilight Realities' was born!

The journey starts with Ionkhe's (Ivan Lugo/Mexico) 'Puppet'. Dreamy melodies over a slowly evolving groove help set the tone for the voyage ahead. Legend Moaiact (Luciano Cisternas Salvo/Chile) amps things up with his energetic and acid laced 'Peak to Peak'. Taking an intentional approach is Random (Ross Dubois/USA), with the 'Oddness' - a super psychedelic tale that ebbs and flows, always pushing things closer to the edge. 

From here on - things are elevated to the next level. The ever impressive Billuminati (Czetka Bela/Hungary) presents his funky tale of 'Bro His' - modulated leads and an unrelenting funky bassline are destined to make this a crowd favorite. Not to be outdone is master Eeriegeist (Sebastian Salas/Mexico) with his signature low rumbling bassline that wiggles its way all around the dancefloor in a move he calls the 'Saucer Glide'. And now we hit critical mass. Reality is resonating uncontrollably with the help of Akromode (Andres Garcia/Mexico) - who spins a tale with a playful bassline that is a full frontal assault to the senses, this is 'Magical Vision'. 

All things lead to the final chapter of this saga - the epic three way collaboration between Space Ape (Robin Levin/Sweden), Ionkhe and Absolute 9 (Carlos Ontiveros/Mexico). Pure psychedelic magic and a no non-sense bassline make this a fitting end to this journey through the 'Twilight Realities'.

04 - Billuminati - Bro His - SAMPLE

Martin became interested in the genres of this musical culture in 2018, but it was not until 2022 that he first performed in front of an audience, introducing himself under the name Liqweed. He may not have started on his own, as he needed encouragement from his industry-savvy friend, Nova, however, he has since became completely captivated by all aspects of his favorite activity, from preparation to applause.

He is a key part to the Psy Ravelution organizing team, working together with them to carry out their outdoor events. His performances here has given him the most experience and practice since he began making music. The dances and smiles of his ever-growing audience fill him with joy and gratitude every time. He aims to reach the level of his role models in the field, and he is committed to maintain a steady pace of progress with all his strength!

Ikoza is very particular about the music he plays at any given time of day, always striving to deliver the best experience for his audience. He pays particular attention to sound quality and carefully considers the ongoing vibe when he starts to play, making sure the chosen tracks connect and resonate with the dancefloor as best as possible, while also offering pleasant surprises and variety. After playing at a few private parties for friends between 2014- 2015, Ikoza steadily boosted his mixing skills and the size of his lossless music library, full of cutting edge underground bangers. In 2016, he joined the Budapest based team, Psychotria, to deliver some of the finest psytrance parties in the capital, hosting talented international headliners and never-disappointing local support from teams and labels such as Labirhythm, Radiozora, Forestdelic Records, Sangoma Records, World People Prod, Digital Shamans. In 2019, he joined Reversible Records as an official label DJ, spreading the amazing tunes produced by his labelmates for the biggest satisfaction of the audience. Ikoza is most experienced in selecting and mixing music for the night-time, with a tempo range between 147 and 153 bpm, taking the crowd on a journey that often guides them into meaningful experiences, then lifts the soul up to realize how good it is to be there together sharing the moment, raving to the beats of the masterpieces produced by the most amazing artist talents from all around the globe. He believes that these moments are surely worth living for, and to relive this experience and to catalyse it for the audience is the driving motivation for him to stand behind the decks with a smile on his face every time. He regularly demonstrates unparalleled versatility and flexibility – there is a suitable set of tracks in his stash for any time of the day, from foresty night sounds to trancey yet psychedelic-to-the-bone tunes that are both uplifting and take you to jaw-droppingly beautiful and complex mental spaces you never thought existed. He also loves to play hypnotic techno, progressive house, progressive chillout and ambient on occasion.

Billuminati is a psytrance project from Hungary, with a lot of groove & movement about 148-150 bpm.

In 2010, Paulo Etnarama was inspired to support fresh up and coming psytrance producers acts in twilight psytrance, and thus Phonix Records was born in London. Later that year he found his partner in crime - Ishikawa, a fellow traveler in the cosmos who shared the same vision. Together they worked tirelessly with the aim of providing sonic scientists and wizards the means to be heard by audiences galaxy wide.

Fast-forward 3 years to 2013, Etnarama goes on sabbatical and Ishikawa takes the reigns to manage the label. Since then - Phonix Records has now branched from its home in the UK with representation across USA, Portugal, and South Africa. Over 15 years and over 50 releases, they have released fresh releases featuring all the flavors of the twilight spectrum. Today they proudly support an ever-growing roster of new and established producers from across the globe including France, South Africa, Mexico, Portugal and Canada.

Focusing completely on the music for the twilight hours, Phonix Records has constantly been pushing to release nothing but the very best in super powered, hyper charged, 100% unadulterated twilight psytrance!
