This weeks Spin City Show that aired on myhouseradio.fm on the 25th April 2021 saw me on hosting duties for the first hour of the show, before handing over to the incredible Derrick McKenzie. 

Some of you will may recognise him as being the drummer for Jamiroquai, some as an amazing dj. Either way, Derrick absolutely shredded the second hour of the show, as you'd expect. It’s Funkier Radio’s second birthday! Hard to believe it’s two years since I started this little show, and I’m still loving the opportunity to spread a little musical happiness every 2 weeks. Hour 1 is standard Funkier Radio fare, with a few promos and new bits, some dusty old oddities, edits, reworks, some Parliament and the odd dodgy blend. I finish my hour with a divine Marvin Gaye track that I can’t believe I’ve never played on the show before. 
 
Hour 2 is all about my bearded Bradford brother Iry Sabir. Iry’s a regular in the radio show chatrooms that music addicts like me hang out in, and he’s not only a top bloke, but a top DJ too. Iry’s put together a real treat of a mix - an all vinyl extravaganza of smooth, sweet soulful house grooves.

Pucker up, people - Samosa Funk is back on the Myhouse Radio airwaves with another Les Inferno and DeGama inspired smack to the proverbial kisser! 

In the red corner wearing the red shorts with gold piping we have the insatiable Sensei of Grooves , Les Inferno. Expect some trademark combo punches from Les Inferno which include The Gap Band, Rena Scott, Rick James and Herb Alpert. Hit after hit until your jaw is left swinging. 

In the opposite corner, wearing the blue shorts with the silver trim is DeGama aka The Dark Destroyer. This guy knows how to pack a punch, and with knockout blows from Dirty Elements & Drunk Drivers, Uptown Funk, Musta and Monsieur Van Pratt, you’ll be on the canvas begging for mercy. Or more. Probably more.

Samosa Funk’s monthly residency for Black Light Disco has gone from strength to strength, and the lads always deliver - no problem.

Musician, DJ, producer & preserver of pickled Disco grooves. Co-founder and resident of Paradise Discs with releases and remixes featured on Hot Digits and Particle Zoo Recordings (forthcoming). Picklejam first began producing and mixing records after moving to Leeds in 2011 and starting his endeavours at university studying for a degree in music production. Back then things were a little different as he produced Tech-House under the alias 'Modec'. At this point he met inspiring Leeds based DJs who introduced him to the infectious sound of World Disco, this is were his direction changed. Taking inspiration from artists such as Fingerman, Ziggy Phunnk & Yam Who?; Picklejam has developed his signature sound which reflects his love for all things Cosmic Disco. His sets and productions reflect on the fundamentals of the genre, capturing its' essence with elements and characteristics of Italo Disco & Synthwave intertwined with Nu-disco production and cosmic sounds.
