When techno parties first began, there was only ever one big floor. The art of the DJ was to get everyone dancing and lead the crowd into a state of collective ecstasy.
That ideal still guides me today, which is why I don’t categorise music into strict genres. At the end of the day, it’s all electronic dance music – so I simply take what I like best and mix it together.
I never use pre-arranged playlists. Every set I play is created live, in the moment, in dialogue with the dancefloor.
When I play old-school, it’s exclusively on vinyl – with classic turntables, just like in the early days.
For my current sound, however, I work with a Native Instruments S4 that has been hard- and software modified to my specifications – a customised setup that allows me to shape the music exactly the way I feel it, or the way the crowd calls for it.

But it’s not about me as a DJ. I’m not the party – you are!

It's in the nature of things, that working in a recordshop, trains the knowledge of music. After all, access to a seemingly never-ending pool of new releases, new editions and purchased collections forms the ideal basis for continually developing and refining one's own taste in music. If you listen and look at Princess P., who lives in Bern, at her work behind the turntables, it quickly becomes clear that she has enjoyed an excellent (listening) education: for years she worked for Plattfon Records in Basel, one of the pearls of swiss recordstores, and helped shape the store's musical agenda in buying and selling.
Accordingly, she selects records in every context with aplomb, surprise and flexibility, which bear witness to her genre-independent expertise: whether at zurich's club institution Zukunft, Elysia in Basel or during the Montreux Jazz Festival. Aware of the musical foundations of the past, but always firmly anchored in the here and now and eagerly awaiting what comes next.
Her DJ sets are based on savoury house with a touch of indie and techno. And, as anyone with an adventurous disposition knows, the detour is often rewarded with a more beautiful view off the beaten track.

Since 2020 Princess P runs together with Cio from Spezialmaterial a monthly sheduled Residency on Mutant Radio Tiblisi. They mostly play Music aside the Dancefloor.

Sneaker has been on a mission to reveal the origins of electronic music for more than twenty years now. Whether as a producer or DJ – Sneaker is doing it properly but always after careful consideration. He loves music which imparts atmosphere and attitude towards life, even in a parodying way that doesn’t take it all or itself too serious. Early on, he fell in love with Detroit and Chicago but furthermore there are the obscure Italo, new wave and minimal synth gems that make his sets and Dunkeltier edits special and provide his productions with that edgy Sneaker flavour.

If he doesn’t reflect on the history of dance music, the graduate of Fine Arts shuttles extensively between his part-time-hometowns Berlin and Dresden, where he operates the TailOut mastering studios with long-time collaborator Jacob Korn. He remixed classic EBM and minimal synth bands such as Twilight Ritual, Esplendor Geométrico, Absolute Body Control, S.M. Nurse and Click Click on his contributions on Frigio, based in Madrid, Bahnsteig 23 and the Macadam Mambo Edits label from Lyon.

The pricky bomb that is ‘You Think You Think!’ on Uncanny Valley Rec. has enriched the sets of Daniel Bell (DBX), Crème-head TLR, Cassius, Traxx and Deetron. It was featured on the FabricLive-CD of Daniel Avery. After the collaboration ‘Heteronomous’ on Jacob Korns debut album (featured by Mano Le Tough in the Boiler Room and liscensed to the Future 303 compilation on Toolroom Records) he became specialiced on edits of dance (un-)classics to be witnessed on his releases on Rat Life and Mond Musik. The end of 2021 will finally bring a return of the Sneaker to Uncanny Valley with an EP of an unheard mixture of New Beat and Deep House played solely on an Emulator II and a 909.
In the past whirlwind years Sneaker has seen an enormous output with EPs on Bio Rhythm, ULM, Lunatic, Bordello A Parigi plus numerous contributions on vinyl labels such as Platform 23, The Black Lodge, Lustpoderosa and Mechatronica. In disguise as the carnivorous part of the synth pop duo Bionda e Lupo on Eine Welt, slow jak beats on Fit Sound, Detroit, plenty of new Dunkeltier edits on wax. In 2019 he introduced the DJ-duo GOTT with his partner Scannoir from Zurich by two EPs of top-notch synth-wave/EBM on Uncanny Valley, a follow-up due in 2022.

An unequivocal industry visionary, DJ Hell's career has embodied and then transcended his many guises: Anti-Superstar DJ, International DeeJay Gigolo Label Boss, GQ Man of the Year, Playboy, Jetsetter, Bon Viveur, Munich Machine, New York Muscle. Seeing, and envisioning - that is of enormous relevance to Hell. He managed to convey pure artistic prowess as well as pure style during his thirty year DJ career. The individual look, the do-it-yourself approach, the elitism. That's how it grew.
