I imagined the set and setting I wish I could play right now, and this was the result. I sincerely miss playing, and while quarantined realized how much of my creative energy is derived from that outlet.   I hope to see you out there soon.

What an incredible weekend spinning in the Karoo Desert at the Place of Dreams! We played the 1pm slot on the Friday at POD1 with this set, starting at a lekke slow 105BPM to ease us into the musical journey of Friday at POD! 

A massive shout out to everyone that enjoyed this set with us, it was an absolute jol to lay this set down and get that dance floor moving and grooving. We added one or two vocal remixes that will tickle your memories in the best ways.

A commanding harp leads the journey from start to finish, weaving fluid melodies that feel both ancient and modern. Jazzy electric piano chords and warm funk-infused synth pads create an inviting harmonic bed, while a deep house–inspired kick and crisp snare lock into a steady, confident pulse.

On the chorus, dub-style harmony violin floats above the rhythm, adding lift and soul, as Afro-pop and Arabic instrumental colors subtly dance through the arrangement. Deep percussion, soulful keys, and R&B-influenced phrasing give the melody its emotional weight, while a gentle vinyl crackle wraps the track in warmth and intimacy. There are only a handful of places on the planet where electronic music is treated like art.  The bus is one of them, and I’m grateful for the opportunity to share music on it.   The tracks in this set are my own original compositions or edits. I consider this to be an album release.   The music is, for the most part, tuned to 432hz in Just Intonation. This tuning follows the harmonic series, and is in harmony with the mathematics of nature.   I hope you feel it with as much love as I put in. Finally, I want to thank the Robot Heart team for working on the system through the night to get the bus out that morning. Your effort meant a great deal to me.

On Sunday April 12th as a special gift for Sandy Hill’s surprise birthday, a group of her favorite DJ friends created epic mini sets to be played on the night of the zoom easter bunny extravaganza. 
You could feel the love and magic in the air that night with smiles radiating from all of those who were present to celebrate this special moment in time.
